Optician Skills Computer Skills, placing orders, data entry per client such as insurance and measurements, information concerning patient. Accuracy in segment heights, pupillary distance, frame measurements and vertex distance and also accuracy completing Rx checks and troubleshooting spectacles. Vast knowledge in contact lenses, such as brands, application of different types of contact lenses per client. Lab experience such as edging with older models of edgers and also use of the pattern-less edgers mainly the Santenelli machine and the dry edging machine. Repairs in many genres of frames, successfully would take a frame highly misshapen and placed in basic alignment. Screws, nose-pad replacement and temple replacement. Educating the patient; informing them on anti-glare features, and lens materials. Also asking them what are they doing for sun protection. Informing clientele on the dangers of glare and the need of UV and Polarized lenses in sunglasses. Sales; using my product knowledge and sales techniques I am a sales optician with tried and true skills to bring in sales for the practice.
