Southern Oregon has always been the place Mark Hixson calls home. His father worked in the Oregon timber industry. His grand parents worked for the US Department of Forestry as one of the early watchman in the 1930's-scanning the horizon for wildfires and enemy aircraft. Growing up here has given Mark a deep appreciation for our community and our natural environment. This is also where he developed a taste for adventure. Over the past four decades, he has enjoyed fly fishing, downhill skiing, outdoor photography and riding his adventure motorcycle. His many years of membership in organizations such as the National Parks Foundation and Trout Unlimited lends to his personal commitment to preserving this land he considers his heritage. For much of his life, flying has been Mark's primary passion. Learning to fly at the age of seventeen, took Mark to the North Country were he worked in Alaska as a Bush Pilot and Fly Fishing Guide. Here he was responsible for his clients' safety and protection in a remote wilderness setting. Attention to detail in this environment was necessary to create a positive experience for his customers. Moving to Southern California is where Mark began his Corporate Pilot Career with AlliedSignal. He also was employed with Qualcomm for the past fifteen years where he was trusted to fly executives to worldwide destinations. Serving as International Captain in this multicultural business environment provided Mark with the opportunity to help clients solve problems on a daily basis, making the most of his specialized communications skills. After thirty five years in the aviation industry, Mark is honored to join the team at John L Scott Real Estate Medford Oregon.
