Derivatized Biotin Compounds And Methods Of Use

View page
US Patent:
6555528, Apr 29, 2003
Filed:
Apr 6, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/828359
Inventors:
Robert M. Strongin - Baton Rouge LA
Marcelo C. Saraiva - San Antonio TX
Grover L. Waldrop - Baton Rouge LA
David R. Amspacher - Baton Rouge LA
Assignee:
Board of Supervisors of Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College - Baton Rouge LA
International Classification:
A61K 3142
US Classification:
514 80, 514387, 548113, 5483037
Abstract:
An efficient synthesis for the selective and efficient 1â-N derivatization of biotin is reported. The derivatized biotin acts as a stable analog of the carboxyphosphate intermediate in naturally-occurring biotin-mediated CO transfer. The synthesis may readily be scaled up to perform large-scale, selective acylations of biotin. The stable analog of the intermediate can inhibit the activity of the biotin carboxylase enzymes such as acetyl CoA carboxylase, and HIV protease. The functionalization at the 1â-N of biotin results in the attachment of an electrophilic âhandleâ amenable to reaction with a wide variety of nucleophiles to generate a new family of biotin analogs.

US Classification:
5483037
Abstract:
An efficient synthesis for the selective and efficient 1'-N derivatization of biotin is reported. The derivatized biotin acts as a stable analog of the carboxyphosphate intermediate in naturally-occurring biotin-mediated CO. sub. 2 transfer. The synthesis may readily be scaled up to perform large-scale, selective acylations of biotin. The stable analog of the intermediate can inhibit the activity of the biotin carboxylase enzymes such as acetyl CoA carboxylase, and HIV protease. The functionalization at the 1'-N of biotin results in the attachment of an electrophilic "handle" amenable to reaction with a wide variety of nucleophiles to generate a new family of biotin analogs.

International Classification:
G06F 21/78
H04L 9/08
H04L 9/06
G06F 9/4401
G06F 3/06
Abstract:
A method for managing a storage system includes initiating, by a hardware resource manager, a boot-up of a storage controller managing the storage system comprising a plurality of storage devices, making a determination, by the storage controller, that the storage controller is in a secured mode, based on the determination: identifying a security state of each of the plurality of storage devices, determining that a storage device of the plurality of storage devices is in an unsecured state, and based on the unsecured state, sending, by the storage controller, a security operation request for securing the storage device, obtaining a secure state response from the hardware resource manager corresponding to securing the storage device, and based on the secure state response, resuming operation of the storage controller based on the secure mode.

Drive Assisted Storage System

View page
US Patent:
20200142633, May 7, 2020
Filed:
Nov 2, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/179595
Inventors:
- Round Rock TX, US
Marcelo Silva Saraiva - Austin TX, US
William Emmett Lynn - Round Rock TX, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/06
G06F 13/16
G06F 13/28
G06F 13/42
Abstract:
A drive assisted storage controller system includes a first storage device that is coupled to a bus that includes a data path and a control path. The first storage device receives via the control path from a storage controller, a first peer-to-peer write command that identifies a host memory address included in a memory system, a first storage location provided in the first storage device, and a second storage location provided in a second storage device coupled to the bus. The first storage device retrieves, via the data path from the host memory address, first write data such that the first write data is not provided through the storage controller. The first storage device provides, via the control path to the second storage device, a second peer-to-peer write command that includes the second storage location. The second peer-to-peer write command causes the second storage device to retrieve the first write data from the first storage device via the data path.
