Abstract:
The present invention discloses a pushing-in device and a method for driving through a cable entry port of an elastomeric sealing element of a fiber optic closure. The pushing-in device comprises a first end having an opening adapted to receive a cable, and a second end having a tip. The tip is capable of penetrating and passing through the cable entry port of the sealing element. The first end is capable of penetrating the sealing element at the cable entry port when the pushing-in device is driven through the cable entry port. In this manner, a cable inserted in the opening of the pushing-in device may be inserted and fed through the sealing element into the fiber optic closure. Also, the pushing-in device may be used as a plug in a cable entry port.

Terminal shields are provided that are configured to protect an optical terminal device. The terminal shield comprises a first portion configured to be secured with respect to the optical terminal device. The terminal shield further comprises a second portion pivotally attached to the first portion. Abstract:
A zero-U, high-density fiber optic terminal for data centers and central offices is disclosed. The terminal may be used for optical fiber interconnection and/or optical fiber and fiber optic cable storage. The terminal is removably mountable to a cable tray above fiber optic equipment, in a subfloor below fiber optic equipment or on a wall in proximity of fiber optic equipment. Additionally, the terminal may have an adapter panel with fiber optic adapters for optically connecting the optical fiber of a first fiber optic cable received from the cable tray and the optical fiber of a second fiber optic cable. The second fiber optic cable is intended to extend to the fiber optic equipment. The adapter panel and the fiber optic adapters are angled generally in the direction in which the second fiber optic cable is intended to extend. Angling the fiber optic adapters in this manner accommodates routing of second fiber optic cable, and provides ease of access to the fiber optic adapters for connecting and disconnecting fiber optic connectors and to slack storage components for cable management mounted in the terminal.

Abstract:
A cable closure assembly includes a rotatable collar secured to an end plate for rotating the end plate with respect to the closure. Drop ports and express ports are provided within the end plate to accommodate either cut or uncut cables within the closure. Grommet and cap tools are provided which consist of two pieces to be installed over cables after the cables are inserted into the closure. A modular closure system is provided including a dome closure and extender or expander closures to increase storage and splicing area within the dome closure. A sliding and locking bracket allows for movement and pivoting of splice trays to access splice trays below other stacked trays. An extender for a strength member bracket accommodates various lengths of strength members on the cable fiber cable. A bracket on an end of a rigid bar member permits wrapping of the cable within the closure and positions the cable within the closure.

Abstract:
A cable slack storage rack includes a first and second cable zone and a medial portion disposed between them. The first and second cable zones have one or more cable keepers, each of which may define an opening therein for receiving cable for slack storage. The cable slack storage rack may have one or more stacking features, thereby making the racks modular for adding additional slack storage as necessary. In other words, the cable slack storage rack may include one or more stacking features for stackably connecting a second cable slack storage rack to a first cable slack storage rack. By way of example, the first cable zone may carry a pivot profile and the second cable zone may carry a retention tab. In another embodiment, the medial portion may define a coupling slot adapted to receive a coupler as the stacking feature.

Abstract:
Embodiments disclosed in the detailed description include fiber optic panels and related apparatuses configured to retain fiber optic components for establishing fiber optic connections. The fiber optic panels are configured such that the fiber optic components and any fiber optic connections made to the fiber optic components can be retained along a depth axis in a depth space of a chassis when the fiber optic panel is inserted into the chassis. The longitudinal axes of the fiber optic components are not parallel to the depth axis of the chassis. In this manner, the area of the depth space of the chassis is utilized to retain fiber optic components so that a greater density of fiber optic components can be supported by fiber optic panels for a given length of the chassis. The fiber optic panel may be any type of fiber optic patch panel or fiber optic module.

Abstract:
An environmentally sealed closure, such as a terminal for terminated ends of fiber optic cables, includes a housing having a wall defining an interior volume. A floating sealing assembly is provided including a first plate, a seal member and a second plate arranged in a stack within the interior volume. The seal member has an outer sealing edge for contacting the wall of the housing, which may be straight and/or chamfered. Fiber optic cables extend through the sealing assembly so that the terminated ends are within the splice area. The floating sealing assembly is compressed so as to place the outer sealing edge of the seal member in sealing contact with the wall of the housing. When a pressure differential exists between the splice area and the outside of the housing only one of the first or second plates moves along the longitudinal axis to further compress the seal member and increase sealing between the outer sealing edge and the housing wall.
