The SR 532 Corridor Improvements Project included on-the-ground community outreach and media relations support to help the 17,000 drivers who cross the bridge each day plan ahead to avoid backups. It also was a vital mechanism for keeping downtown Stanwood open for business through two busy years of construction.

The criteria for selection include a demonstrated commitment to the profession through career development and achievement, community involvement and volunteerism, and the dedication to improving the credibility of public relations as a whole. Lynsey was awarded the 2011 Outstanding Young Professional for her leadership on the SR 532 Corridor Improvements Project for the Washington State Department of Transportation.
