A method and apparatus are provided for a no pre-set spending limit transaction card with features and attributes of both a credit card and a charge card, including an overlimit spend feature and an associated communicated line of credit. The transaction card may carry a balance like a credit card and may require that a card user pay down the balance carried forward to the line of credit subsequent to the end of each billing cycle. When the user has reached or exceeded the communicated line of credit, each subsequent transaction request for a new transaction by the user is evaluated on a case-by-case basis by a process that includes execution an overlimit spend authorization logic or process.

US Patent:
20190205807, Jul 4, 2019
Filed:
Jan 2, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/859959
Inventors:
- Purchase NY, US
Luckner Polycarpe - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
G06Q 10/06
G06F 17/30
G06Q 20/34
Abstract:
A computer-implemented system is configured to, responsive to failure of anonymity threshold criteria of a payment card transaction based dataset including a geographical region definition including solely a first geographical region, query a geographical information service for data indicative of geographical regions neighboring a first geographical region; iteratively query the payment card transaction based dataset using queries modifying the geographical region definition to include the first geographical region and one or more neighboring geographical regions; test returned results against the anonymity threshold criteria; and responsive to a positive test result, generating an approval indication for a data set.

Method And System For Ambient Media Selection Based On Transaction History And Demographics

US Patent:
20170098241, Apr 6, 2017
Filed:
Oct 5, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/874902
Inventors:
- Purchase NY, US
Luckner POLYCARPE - Brooklyn NY, US
Kent Olof Niklas BERNTSSON - Rye NY, US
Assignee:
MASTERCARD INTERNATIONAL INCORPORATED - Purchase NY
International Classification:
G06Q 30/02
Abstract:
A method for identifying ambient media (audio and visual content) selections based on transaction history includes: storing transaction data entries, each including data related to a payment transaction including a merchant identifier associated with a merchant involved in the transaction, a primary account number associated with a transaction account used in the transaction, and transaction data; receiving a request, the request including a specific merchant identifier; identifying a subset of transaction data entries that include a merchant identifier corresponding to the specific merchant identifier; identifying sets of demographic characteristics based on the primary account number and/or the transaction data included in transaction data entries in the subset; identifying an ambient media selection corresponding to the sets of the demographic characteristics; and transmitting the identified ambient media selection corresponding to each of the sets of demographic characteristics.

Data Enhancement Analysis With Respect To Merchants' Customer Loyalty Accounts

View page
US Patent:
20160364743, Dec 15, 2016
Filed:
Jun 11, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/737017
Inventors:
- Purchase NY, US
Pamela Veraart - Manhasset NY, US
Steven Oshry - Tarrytown NY, US
Adam Slackman - New York NY, US
Luckner Polycarpe - Brooklyn NY, US
International Classification:
G06Q 30/02
G06Q 20/38
Abstract:
A first set of transaction data is received from a merchant. The first set of transaction data represents a plurality of customer profiles. Each of the customer profiles corresponds to a respective account in a customer loyalty program administered by the merchant. A second set of transaction data is received from the merchant. The second set of transaction data represents unattached transactions involving the merchant but not associated by the merchant with any of the customer loyalty program accounts. Payment account numbers associated with the unattached transactions are used to link ones of the unattached transactions to respective ones of the customer loyalty program accounts.

US Patent:
20160117689, Apr 28, 2016
Filed:
Oct 27, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/524678
Inventors:
- Purchase NY, US
Luckner Polycarpe - Brooklyn NY, US
Pamela Veraart - Manhassett NY, US
International Classification:
G06Q 30/02
H04L 29/06
G06F 17/30
Abstract:
Systems, methods, means, computer program code and computerized processes include receiving a first set of de-identified transaction data from a first transaction data source, receiving a second set of de-identified transaction data from a second transaction data source, removing data associated with an identifier field for each of the transactions in the first data set to created a de-identified first data set, removing data associated with an identifier field for each of the transactions in the second data set to create a de-identified second data set, and processing the first and second de-identified data sets using a probabilistic engine to establish a linkage between data in each data set. The probabilistic engine may assign probability scores to pairs of data profiles based on two-way matching of transactions and based at least partly on matching of transactions to nearest neighbors.

Inferred Matching Of Payment Card Accounts By Matching To Common Mobile Device Via Time And Location Data Analysis

View page
US Patent:
20160117781, Apr 28, 2016
Filed:
Oct 23, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/521814
Inventors:
- Purchase NY, US
Luckner B. Polycarpe - Brooklyn NY, US
Kent Olof Niklas Berntsson - Rye NY, US
International Classification:
G06Q 40/00
Abstract:
Payment card account transaction data sets and mobile device travel profiles are compared with each other to detect matches in terms of times and locations of use and/or presence. Such an analysis may link two or more payment card accounts to the same mobile device. Consequently, common ownership of the two or more payment card accounts may be reasonably inferred. Based on the inference of common ownership, marketing related analysis may be performed on a combined transaction data set that reflects transactions in both commonly owned payment card accounts.
