C10G 19/08
US Classification:
208226, 208208 R, 208209, 208230, 208234, 208235
Abstract:
After desulfurizing a hydrocarbon feedstream using an alkali metal reagent, the hydrocarbon feedstream can include particles of spent alkali metal salts. The spent alkali metal salts can be separated from the hydrocarbon feedstream and regenerated to form an alkali metal reagent, such as a alkali hydroxide or alkali sulfide. The regeneration process can pass through an intermediate stage of forming an alkali carbonate by successive reactions with carbon dioxide and calcium oxide. The calcium oxide can also be regenerated.

High Performance Cmos Radio Frequency Receiver

View page
US Patent:
8045943, Oct 25, 2011
Filed:
Jan 29, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/021534
Inventors:
Daniel L. Kaczman - Gurnee IL, US
Mohammed S. Alam - Grayslake IL, US
David L. Cashen - Wauconda IL, US
Lu M. Han - Chicago IL, US
Mohammed Rachedine - Lincolnshire IL, US
Manish N. Shah - Vernon Hills IL, US
Assignee:
Freescale Semiconductor, Inc. - Austin TX
International Classification:
H04B 1/18
H04B 1/26
US Classification:
455293, 455318, 455326
Abstract:
A high performance radio frequency receiver includes a low noise amplifier with large binary and stepped gain control range, controlled impedance, and enhanced blocker immunity, for amplifying and converting a radio frequency signal to a current; a pulse generator for generating in-phase and quadrature pulses; a crossover correction circuit and pulse shaper for controlling a crossover threshold of the pulses and interaction between in-phase and quadrature mixers; and a double balanced mixer for combining the RF signal with the pulses to generate an intermediate frequency or baseband zero intermediate frequency current-mode signal. The in-phase and quadrature pulses have a duty cycle of 20-35%. The intermediate frequency signal and second order harmonics may be filtered with a high frequency low pass filter and a current injected complex direct-coupled filter. Decreased die size, current drain, cost, and complexity, as well as improvements in gain, 1/f noise, noise figure, sensitivity, and linearity may result.

Desulfurization Process Using Alkali Metal Reagent

View page
US Patent:
20110147273, Jun 23, 2011
Filed:
Dec 14, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/967425
Inventors:
Jorge L. Soto - Centreville VA, US
Michael Raterman - Doylestown PA, US
Daniel P. Leta - Flemington NJ, US
Walter D. Vann - Glen Mills PA, US
Lu Han - Herndon VA, US
Jonathan M. McConnachie - Annandale NJ, US
James R. Bielenberg - Easton PA, US
Roby Bearden, JR. - Baton Rouge LA, US
Assignee:
EXXONMOBIL RESEARCH AND ENGINEERING COMPANY - Annandale NJ
International Classification:
C10G 19/02
US Classification:
208227
Abstract:
Hydrocarbon feedstreams are desulfurized using an alkali metal reagent, optionally in the presence of hydrogen. Improved control over reaction conditions can be achieved in part by controlling the particle size of the alkali metal salt and by using multiple desulfurization reactors. After separation of the spent alkali metal reagent, the resulting product can have suitable characteristics for pipeline transport and/or further refinery processing.

Fluid Bed Reactor With Staged Baffles

US Patent:
20130165724, Jun 27, 2013
Filed:
Jul 25, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/557605
Inventors:
Lu Han - Herndon VA, US
Rathna P. Davuluri - Fairfax VA, US
Christopher G. Smalley - Manassas VA, US
Mark Hagemeister - Houston TX, US
Masaaki Sugita - McLean VA, US
Joseph S. Famolaro - Ashburn VA, US
Robert G. Tinger - Friendswood TX, US
International Classification:
B01J 8/18
US Classification:
585447, 422140
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process of alkylating aromatic hydrocarbons, and more particularly a process of making paraxylene by alkylation of benzene and/or toluene with methanol and/or dimethyl ether, and to an apparatus for carrying out said process, the improvement comprising staged injection of one of the reactants, with the stages separated by structured packing so as to minimize at least one of gas phase back-mixing, by-pass phenomena, and gas bubble size.

Through Bore Slip Ring Condition Monitoring System And Method

View page
US Patent:
20200355272, Nov 12, 2020
Filed:
May 7, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/869200
Inventors:
- Waukegan IL, US
Lu Han - Vernon Hills IL, US
Matt Jakymiw - Park Ridge IL, US
International Classification:
F16J 15/34
H02K 5/14
Abstract:
A slip ring assembly includes a housing having a stator that rotatably supports a rotor. The rotor includes conductive disks that are electrically connected to respective conductors extending through a rotor shaft. The stator includes brushes that slidably and electrically engage the conductive disks. The one or more brushes are electrically connected to stator conductors extending at least partially through the stator. Electrical pathways are defined and extend from the stator conductors, the brushes, the conductive disks, and the respective conductors in the shaft. A smart board is connected to the stator and includes electronic components configured to monitor operation of the slip ring assembly and provide signals to an external source. The smart board is electrically connected to, and powered by, electrical power that is present and available on the stator conductors.

Method Of Processing A Bituminous Feed By Staged Addition Of A Bridging Liquid

View page
US Patent:
20140262964, Sep 18, 2014
Filed:
Mar 9, 2012
Appl. No.:
14/112203
Inventors:
Lu Han - Herndon VA, US
Brian C. Speirs - Calgary, CA
Olusola B. Adeyinka - Calgary, CA
Thomas R. Palmer - Lima NY, US
Emilio Alvarez - Missouri City TX, US
Anjaneya S. Kovvali - Fairfax VA, US
David C. Rennard - Houston TX, US
Fritz Pierre, JR. - Humble TX, US
International Classification:
C10G 1/04
US Classification:
208390
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method of processing a bituminous feed. The bituminous feed is contacted with an extraction liquor to form a slurry. A bridging liquid is added to the slurry in at least two stages and solids within the slurry are agitated to form an agglomerated slurry comprising agglomerated solids and a low solids bitumen extract. The agglomerates are then separated from the low solids bitumen extract. Potential benefits may include the production of smaller and more uniform agglomerates. The former may lead to higher bitumen recoveries and the latter may improve the solid-liquid separation rate. The bridging liquid may be added in an area of relatively high shear rates. Between stages of bridging liquid addition, agglomerates may be removed.
