Water And Beverage Concentrate Dispenser

View page
US Patent:
39499030, Apr 13, 1976
Filed:
Sep 12, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/505452
Inventors:
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Jost S. Sucro - Dayton OH
Assignee:
General Motors Corporation - Detroit MI
International Classification:
B67D 556
US Classification:
2221292
Abstract:
A beverage concentrate and water dispenser for a household refrigerator cabinet wherein multiple spouts with individual actuating and mixture diluting means are accessible from the exterior of the refrigerator cabinet. The dispenser includes a plurality of valves, fed with chilled water via a manifold from a water storage tank within the cabinet, for flow through jet nozzle aspirator means, operative for drawing beverage concentrate through a suction tube for mixing with the water prior to being dispensed. The dispenser concentrate-water mixture diluting means includes a valve in a water bypass passageway for selecting the proportion of bypass water dilution desired to be added to the concentrate-water mixture. An electrical switch is operative in sequence with resiliently biased valve plug members to delay the admission of source water under line or water main pressure into the manifold until the selected valve plug has been unseated.

Refrigerator Water Storage And Dispensing System With Water Filter

View page
US Patent:
39824063, Sep 28, 1976
Filed:
Nov 28, 1975
Appl. No.:
5/636211
Inventors:
Robert S. Hanson - Kettering OH
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Assignee:
General Motors Corporation - Detroit MI
International Classification:
F25D 2312
B67D 562
US Classification:
62339
Abstract:
A refrigerator cabinet having a chilled water dispensing service area accessible from the exterior of the cabinet with a vertically extending water supply storage tank and filter cartridge assembly located in the fresh food compartment with the filter cartridge coextensive with one vertical edge of the tank positioning the cartridge upper inlet adaptor integral tube positioned adjacent an upper outlet of the tank. The tank has a serpentine storage volume comprising a plurality of substantially horizontal extending passes connecting the tank inlet and outlet with the tank uppermost pass extending at an inclined axis toward the tank outlet. The adaptor tube axis is inclined downwardly so as to be complementary to the upwardly inclined axis of the tank outlet whereby chilled water from the tank is purged of air and filtered just prior to being dispensed at the service area.

Ice Door Delay Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
42202663, Sep 2, 1980
Filed:
Sep 28, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/946504
Inventors:
Ralph S. Braden - Bellbrook OH
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Jerry L. Neubauer - Dayton OH
Assignee:
White Consolidated Industries, Inc. - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
E05F 506
F25C 518
US Classification:
222477
Abstract:
A refrigerator freezer door has an ice service area in its outer face including an actuator for opening a passage closure member. Upon depressing the actuator a switch is closed to energize a power driven ice dispenser in the freezer compartment which discharges ice pieces down a chute and into the passage through the freezer door to the service area. A suction cup positioned on the actuator has an air bleed passageway to delay return movement of the actuator and closing of the closure member until the chute has emptied its ice pieces into the passageway.

Water Chilling Tank For Refrigerator

View page
US Patent:
40366200, Jul 19, 1977
Filed:
Jun 4, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/692971
Inventors:
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Jost S. Sucro - Dayton OH
Assignee:
General Motors Corporation - Detroit MI
International Classification:
F25D 2312
B67D 562
US Classification:
62338
Abstract:
A refrigerator cabinet water storage tank is oriented horizontally on the floor of the fresh food compartment and includes first and second side-by-side water storage chambers interconnected by a cross-over passage having a continuous taper which constantly increases the cross-sectional areas from the first chamber inlet to the second chamber outlet. The tank allows the water to enter from a domestic water source at a point lower than the exit tube outlet with the outlet arranged at the tank's highest point obviating the entrapment of air within the tank. The tank has an internal configuration providing maximum internal volume while fitting into a limited space. The water flow through the tank follows a serpentine U-shaped path to promote water turbulence which will provide maximum heat transfer.

Air Filter With Labyrinth Air Flow Pattern Through An Air Filter Insert

View page
US Patent:
60932279, Jul 25, 2000
Filed:
Aug 27, 1998
Appl. No.:
9/140568
Inventors:
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Assignee:
ITT Manufacturing Enterprises, Inc. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
B01D 2700
B01D 4506
B01D 5000
US Classification:
55332
Abstract:
An air filter apparatus includes a filter body mountable in a support surface. A filter insert is mounted in a bore extending from one end of the body. A labyrinth air flow path is formed between a portion of the exterior surface of the filter body and an end cap mounted over an end portion of the body and through the filter insert in the bore in the body to prevent the ingestion of fluid through the filter.

Vertical Sliding Closure Panel For Refrigeration Door

View page
US Patent:
40464385, Sep 6, 1977
Filed:
Aug 30, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/718754
Inventors:
Louis D. Benasutti - Fairborn OH
Jerry L. Neubauer - Dayton OH
Ronald E. Meyer - Troy MI
