Emi Controlled Integral Hid Reflector Lamp

View page
US Patent:
7950836, May 31, 2011
Filed:
May 9, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/151819
Inventors:
Louie Daniel Veiga - Nashua NH, US
Randall D Brown - Barrington NH, US
Assignee:
OSRAM SYLVANIA Inc. - Danvers MA
International Classification:
B60Q 1/00
US Classification:
362519
Abstract:
An integral HID reflector lamp may be formed with an HID held in a reflector. An inner element is mechanically coupled to the reflector. The inner element is formed with a first mechanical coupling to mate with the reflector, a second mechanical coupling to mate with a circuit board, and an electrical coupling to at least electrically couple one of the leads to the circuit board. A circuit board has an edge mechanically coupled to the inner element and electrically connected to the leads by an electrical coupling on the inner element. A heat sink spans at least one side of the circuit board and forming an EMI shielding. An outer cover encloses the heat sink, circuit board, and inner element and coupled to the assembly of the reflector, HID lamp, inner element, and heat sink with each elements of the assembly clipped together.

Integrally Ballasted Lamp Assembly Including A Spacer Disk

View page
US Patent:
8110973, Feb 7, 2012
Filed:
Mar 16, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/661397
Inventors:
Renaud Richard - Manchester NH, US
Louie Veiga - Nashua NH, US
Randall Brown - Barrington NH, US
International Classification:
H01J 5/16
F21V 7/00
US Classification:
31331809, 313113, 31331805, 31331811, 36229601, 445 23
Abstract:
An integrally ballasted lamp assembly () including a spacer disk () disposed in a lamp receptacle cavity () between a lamp () and the bottom () of the lamp receptacle (). The disk () may be configured to contact connector clips () coupled to the bottom () of the lamp receptacle to positively align the clips () for connection to a ballast circuit disposed on a PCB (). The disk () may also, or alternatively, at least partially occlude connector clip openings () in the bottom () of the lamp receptacle () for hindering the flow of uncured cement () through the openings (), and may also, or alternatively, provide a thermal barrier between the lamp () and the lamp receptacle ().

Par Lamp And Method Of Making Same

US Patent:
8581482, Nov 12, 2013
Filed:
Apr 30, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/387240
Inventors:
Louie Veiga - Nashua NH, US
Renaud Richard - Manchester NH, US
Harold Rothwell, Jr. - Hopkinton NH, US
Assignee:
OSRAM SYLVANIA Inc. - Danvers MA
International Classification:
H01J 19/54
US Classification:
313313, 445 23, 313113, 31331811, 313634
Abstract:
A method of making a subassembly () for a PAR lamp () comprising the steps of: (a) providing a base () including a cup-shaped portion () with a top edge () having an extended flange () projecting therefrom; (b) providing a plurality of electrical contacts () and inserting the contacts into appropriate locations () in a bottom () of the cup-shaped portion (); (c) providing a lamp capsule () including a light source () having dependent leads () projecting from a base end (); (d) inserting the base end () of the lamp capsule () into the cup-shaped portion () and affixing the dependent leads () to the electrical contacts (); (e) providing a reflector () having a funnel-shaped body () with a substantially tubular neck (); (f) filling the cup-shaped portion () with a liquid cement () to a depth that covers the base end () of the lamp capsule (); (g) fitting the reflector () over the lamp capsule () so that the tubular neck () is submersed in the liquid cement (); and (h) heating the subassembly () to fix the reflector () in place.

Valve Stem Extension

View page
US Patent:
62575511, Jul 10, 2001
Filed:
May 26, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/318877
Inventors:
Louie D. Veiga - Nashua NH
Assignee:
Watts Investment Company - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
F16K 3144
US Classification:
251288
Abstract:
A valve stem extension for extending the length of a valve stem, the valve stem extension including an extension member and a rotation resisting member. The extension member has a first end for engaging the valve stem and defines an opening which exposes two opposing flat sides of the valve stem when the extension member is engaged with the valve stem. The rotation resisting member includes two opposing flat sides and is configured to be insertable within the opening of the extension member after engagement of the extension member with the valve stem. When positioned in the opening of the extension member, the two opposing flat sides of the rotation resisting member engage the two opposing flat sides of the valve stem to resist rotation of the extension member relative to the valve stem.
