Automatic Tilt-Elevating Chiropractic Table

View page
US Patent:
7472441, Jan 6, 2009
Filed:
Jul 20, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/458893
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA, US
Assignee:
Lloyd Table Company - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61G 7/005
A61G 7/05
A61F 5/00
US Classification:
5610, 5611, 606244
Abstract:
A chiropractic table has a power-operated linkage that will simultaneously tilt the table as it is lowered from an elevated position and also return the table to a horizontal position as it is elevated. The table employs a modified, movable parallelogram type of linkage, as opposed to a scissors-type linkage, which when combined with an open center frame allows the table to be lowered to a height not attainable with the prior art tables. A patient footplate assembly includes additional linkage and is operated by the tilt actuator so that when the table is elevated, the footplate is rotated out of the way, and when the table is tilted and lowered, the footplate will be rotated upwardly into position so that the patient can easily step off the table.

Hydraulically Controlled Chiropractic Table

View page
US Patent:
45823111, Apr 15, 1986
Filed:
Oct 27, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/546085
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61G 1300
US Classification:
269325
Abstract:
A chiropractic table that is hydraulically controlled for variable tension flexing. The pelvic section of the table is tilted by a hydraulic system that employs an accumulator which provides for control of manually-applied procedures. The use of hydraulics also requires less space than mechanical means thereby permitting additional functions to be combined into a single all-function table.

Chiropractic Table

US Patent:
49601113, Oct 2, 1990
Filed:
Aug 5, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/228986
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61F 500
US Classification:
128 72
Abstract:
An apparatus for treatment of certain physical conditions by a chiropractor or other health professional in which a patient support, such as a table with separate sections is used to apply a controlled, abrupt force, either singly or in programmed repetition, to assist the health professional in conducting certain procedures on the patient. Force is applied to the patient manually by the health professional but also through the cushion on a separate section of the patient support by means of a double-acting force applying means, such as a hydraulic cylinder. Both the force generated by the apparatus and the total force applied to the patient is displayed so that the health professional can accurately control the procedure and achieve the desired result. The system can be programmed so as to apply a selected number of successive forces at a relatively high rate.

Aug 6, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/907127
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61F 500
US Classification:
606237
Abstract:
A chiropractic table having an improved drop mechanism using two pair of roller bearings or other devices and a T-shaped or other bracket with the upright stem of the bracket being combined with detents including an adjustable spring loaded ball. Chiropractic Massage Table

View page
US Patent:
50884751, Feb 18, 1992
Filed:
Jun 15, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/539726
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61H 700
US Classification:
128 52
Abstract:
A chiropractic massage table for producing therapeutic massage in a specified area of a patient's spine. Three pair of tandemrollers are mounted on the periphery of a rotatable support which travels along a defined path beneath the surface of the table. Chiropractic Table With Swingable Section

View page
US Patent:
47321415, Mar 22, 1988
Filed:
Sep 25, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/912008
Inventors:
Lloyd A. Steffensmeier - Lisbon IA
International Classification:
A61F 500
A61F 504
US Classification:
128 74
Abstract:
A chiropractic table having a feature that facilitates the treatment of rotatory scoliosis and scoliosis of the spine. The chest-lumbar section of the table is mounted so that it can both pivot and slide thus producing a swinging movement about a central pivot point located above the longitudinal axis of the table. This type of movement is beneficial in the treatment of scoliosis. The mounting structure of the chest-lumbar section is such that the section can be raised or lowered to accommodate the particular anatomy of the patient and also provides for inclusion in the section of the drop feature used in the treatment of scoliosis and other conditions.
