Abstract:
Release compositions include (a) from zero to about 30 parts by weight of a polymer selected from the group consisting of wherein R , R , R , R , R , R , R , and R are each independently selected from an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group, such that at least one of R and R is an alkenyl group, l, m, and n are each independently an integer so long as the polymer contains greater than 3 mol % vinyl-containing siloxane groups; a (vinyl siloxy)(siloxy)-modified silica having a vinyl content of at least about 0. 4 vinyl equivalent/kg; and a combination thereof; (b) more than about 20 parts by weight of a polymer having the formula wherein R , R , R , R , R , R , R , and R are each independently selected from an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group, such that at least two of R , R , R , R , R , R , R , and R are alkenyl groups, p, q, and r are each independently integers so long as the polymer has less than 3 mol % vinyl-containing siloxane groups; and (c) up to about 20 parts by weight of a cross-linking agent of the formula wherein R , R , R , R , R , and R are each independently selected from hydrogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group, and an aralkyl group, X is O, or a divalent organic linking group, and s and t are independently integers so long as there are at least two functional groups capable of cross-linking per molecule.

Abstract:
Liquid electrographic toner compositions are provided comprising a liquid carrier having a Kauri-Butanol number less than about 30 mL and a plurality of toner particles dispersed in the liquid carrier. The toner particles comprise polymeric binder and a pigment comprising a first ionic dye component ionically complexed with a second ionic dye component in a predetermined ratio to form an ionically complexed colorant compound exhibiting a predetermined color. The colorant compound has a molecular weight of less than about 5000 Daltons and is substantially free of metals that are not covalently bonded to the colorant compound. Toners comprising pigments comprising a ionic dye component and a second ionic dye component complexed to form ionically complexed compounds that together in a colorant composition exhibit a predetermined color are also provided. Methods of making and using these toners are disclosed.

An electrophotographic imaging apparatus having a first toner accepting layer and an intermediate transfer member. The first toner accepting layer is positioned in electrical contact with a) a charge provider, b) an irradiation source that activates photoconductivity in the first toner accepting layer, and b) at least one toner applicator, so that a first toner image can be formed on the first toner accepting layer. Abstract:
Black colorant compounds comprise a first ionic dye component having a known color characteristic that absorbs light in at least a portion of the visible light spectrum and a second ionic dye component having a known color characteristic that absorbs light in at least a portion of the visible light spectrum that is not absorbed by the first ionic dye component. The first ionic dye component and the second ionic dye component are complexed together to form an ionically complexed colorant compound that appears black in color. Alternatively, compositions comprise ionically complexed compounds containing a plurality of dye components, where the compounds together in a colorant composition appear black in color.
