Rope Fastener

View page
US Patent:
49557505, Sep 11, 1990
Filed:
Sep 5, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/402542
Inventors:
Leo Goran - Punta Gorda FL
International Classification:
B25G 300
F16B 710
US Classification:
403306
Abstract:
A rope fastener is disclosed comprising a resilient thermoplastic body having at least one longitudinal passage for receiving a rope therein. The fastener includes one or more nail receiving holes transverse to said passage and extending diametrically across the passage in opposite sides of the body to enable a nail to be driven through the rope and the fastener body to retain the rope in the fastener body. The fastener has several uses including connecting two ropes together, forming a loop of the end of a rope, forming a rope ladder, attaching other objects to a rope such as a flag, or attaching hooks or other fastening devices to a rope or elastic cord. Depending on the application, the fastener may have one or more longitudinal passages and the number and size of the nails is dependent on the tensile loads to be carried by the rope.

Atomizing Apparatus

US Patent:
42213312, Sep 9, 1980
Filed:
Feb 26, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/014974
Inventors:
Leo Goran - Birmingham MI
International Classification:
B05B 732
US Classification:
239121
Abstract:
Apparatus for converting a liquid into an atomized mist and, in one form of the invention discharging the mist to the atmosphere, in another form of the invention discharging the mist into an air stream for spraying the mist onto a receiving surface, and in still another form of the invention discharging the mist in a selected pattern of spray onto a receiving surface without the use of an air stream. The liquid is converted into an atomized mist by a mechanical operation wherein the liquid is fed through orifices in a spray head and a blade is moved rapidly over the orifices so as to shear particles of liquid from the main stream and discharge them therefrom as a fine mist. The airstream can be generated by a fan that is part of the apparatus and is driven by an electrical motor that actuates the blade, or the airstream can be generated by a second source of energy located remotely of the apparatus.

US Patent:
58137904, Sep 29, 1998
Filed:
Sep 19, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/715584
Inventors:
Leo Goran - Punta Gorda FL
International Classification:
F16B 700
US Classification:
403283
Abstract:
An improved rope fastener is disclosed having a resilient thermoplastic body with at least one longitudinal passage for receiving a rope therein. The fastener includes one or more nail receiving bores transverse to the rope passage and extending across the rope passage to enable a nail to be driven through the fastener and a rope to retain the rope in the fastener body. To prevent pushing of rope fibers into the nail bore as the nail is being driven through the rope, a closure is provided in the nail bores to prevent rope fibers from entering into the nail bore. The nails pierce through the closure as they enter the opposite side of the fastener body.
