Digital Image Management System Having Method For Managing Images According To Image Groups

View page
US Patent:
6349373, Feb 19, 2002
Filed:
Feb 20, 1998
Appl. No.:
09/026986
Inventors:
Larry R. Sitka - Stillwater MN
Dean P. Beilke - Apple Valley MN
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G06F 1216
US Classification:
711161, 707204, 705 2, 705 3
Abstract:
A digital image management system is described which facilitates image archival with a unique method for grouping customer images and information. As applied to medical environments, the system creates a virtual film jacket and implements the unique method by modeling convention hospital film archival procedures. The invention facilitates archival to a variety of devices including a redundant array of independent disks, magneto-optical storage devices and digital linear tapes and eliminates the need for hospital staff to retrieve several tapes from archive in order for a radiologist to review a patients study. The invention is applicable to any environment where customer images and information are continuously archived and retrieved.

Asset Communication Format Within A Computer Network

View page
US Patent:
7640171, Dec 29, 2009
Filed:
Jul 24, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/911846
Inventors:
David Pierre Gendron - Coon Rapids MN, US
Dale Philip Kingsbury - Little Canada MN, US
Jeffrey Allen Romatoski - Woodbury MN, US
Larry Robert Sitka - Stillwater MN, US
Assignee:
Acuo Technologies, LLC - Oakdale MN
International Classification:
G06Q 50/00
G06K 9/00
G06F 15/173
US Classification:
705 2, 382128, 709238
Abstract:
A communication format and protocol is described for routing and storage “asset” within a computer network. The assets conform to a format in which a first data structure that stores asset meta information to control routing of the asset through a medical imaging network. A second data structure that stores medical imaging information received from a medical imaging modality. A third data structure that stores pixel data received from the medical imaging modality. A fourth data structure that stores patch data that includes modifications to the medical imaging information. A fifth data structure that stores error detection and correction information.

Routing Medical Images Within A Computer Network

View page
US Patent:
20020023172, Feb 21, 2002
Filed:
Jul 24, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/911844
Inventors:
David Gendron - Coon Rapids MN, US
Dale Kingsbury - Little Canada MN, US
Jeffrey Romatoski - Woodbury MN, US
Larry Sitka - Stillwater MN, US
International Classification:
G06F015/173
US Classification:
709/238000
Abstract:
A router includes a computer-readable medium storing routing information mapping destinations to routes within a medical imaging network, and storing a set of routing rules. A routing module executing within an operating environment provided by the router selects a route from the routing information based on destination information of a network communication and a comparison of medical imaging data of the network communication to the set of routing rules. The module parses the medical imaging data to identify a set of DICOM tags and corresponding data; and assesses the routing rules based on the DICOM tags and corresponding data.

Routing And Storage Within A Computer Network

View page
US Patent:
20020035638, Mar 21, 2002
Filed:
Jul 24, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/911847
Inventors:
David Gendron - Coon Rapids MN, US
Dale Kingsbury - Little Canada MN, US
Jeffrey Romatoski - Woodbury MN, US
Larry Sitka - Stillwater MN, US
International Classification:
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/238000, 709/201000
Abstract:
A router includes a computer-readable medium storing routing information mapping destinations to routes within a network. A storage manager software module executing within an operating environment provided by the router receives a network communication including an asset having a pixel data and non-pixel data, and stores the asset to a storage device. A validation software module validates the non-pixel data in parallel with the storage of the asset. A routing module forwards the storage asset to a network destination in accordance with the routing information upon the validation of the non-pixel data.

US Patent:
20020038381, Mar 28, 2002
Filed:
Jul 24, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/911849
Inventors:
David Gendron - Coon Rapids MN, US
Dale Kingsbury - Little Canada MN, US
Jeffrey Romatoski - Woodbury MN, US
Larry Sitka - Stillwater MN, US
International Classification:
G06F015/16
US Classification:
709/238000, 709/203000
Abstract:
A router includes a computer-readable medium storing routing information for destination within a network. A verification module executing within an operating environment provided by the router validates data of a network communication. A reconciliation manager displays a user interface for reconciling any invalid data. A routing module forwards the network communication to a destination according to the routing information.

Hierarchical Data Storage Management

View page
US Patent:
63305720, Dec 11, 2001
Filed:
Jul 15, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/354280
Inventors:
Larry Sitka - Stillwater MN
Assignee:
Imation Corp. - Oakdale MN
International Classification:
G06F 1730
US Classification:
707205
Abstract:
A system and method for managing the storage of files within an HSM system incorporate an architecture and methodology that facilitate the storage and retrieval of large image files as part of an overall image processing workflow. In particular, the system and method may find ready application in a workflow that involves the processing of groups of images associated with particular customers, projects, or transactions, and may act as a storage server for a client application that implements the workflow. The system and method may be useful, for example, in handling the storage of images uploaded from scanned photographic film, or digital images submitted to a photo-processing shop by amateur or professional photographers. In this case, the client application can be a photo-processing application that could provide for various media formats, sizes, and quantities of image reproductions for a consumer. As another example, the system and method may be useful in handling the storage of medical diagnostic images associated with a particular medical patient or study.

View page
US Patent:
20160246687, Aug 25, 2016
Filed:
Feb 25, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/053875
Inventors:
- Meyrin, CH
David Pierre Gendron - Coon Rapids MN, US
Jeffrey Allen Romatoski - Woodbury MN, US
