G06T 15/20
US Classification:
345427, 345419, 345420
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and articles of manufacture consistent with the present invention allow a user operating on a data processing computer to view geometry of an object model produced by an image generator hosted on an image processing computer by allowing the user to define a zone associated with the object model, slices of each zone, and viewpoints associated with the slices, controlling the graphics image generator to produce geometric images of the object model in accordance with the zone, slices, and viewpoints, and selectively navigating the images in accordance with the zone, slices, and viewpoints.

Advanced Remote Nondestructive Inspection System And Process

US Patent:
20120327187, Dec 27, 2012
Filed:
Jun 22, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/166613
Inventors:
James J. Troy - Issaquah WA, US
Scott W. Lea - Renton WA, US
Gary E. Georgeson - Tacoma WA, US
William P. Motzer - Seattle WA, US
Peter J. Hellenbrand - Seattle WA, US
Kevin Puterbaugh - Auburn WA, US
Assignee:
THE BOEING COMPANY - Chicago IL
International Classification:
H04N 13/02
US Classification:
348 46, 348E13074
Abstract:
A system for inspecting a test article incorporates a diagnostic imaging system for a test article. A command controller receives two dimensional (2D) images from the diagnostic imaging system. A three dimensional (3D) computer aided design (CAD) model visualization system and an alignment system for determining local 3D coordinates are connected to the command controller. Computer software modules incorporated in the command controller are employed, in aligning, the 2D images and 3D CAD model responsive to the local 3D coordinates. The 2D images and 3D CAD model are displayed with reciprocal registration. The alignment system is then directed to selected coordinates in the 2D images or 3D CAD model.

Sensor-Enhanced Localization In Virtual And Physical Environments

US Patent:
20130321391, Dec 5, 2013
Filed:
Jun 1, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/486725
Inventors:
James J. Troy - Issaquah WA, US
Kevin Puterbaugh - Auburn WA, US
Christopher Esposito - Issaquah WA, US
John C. Gass - Sammamish WA, US
International Classification:
G06T 15/00
US Classification:
345419
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a computer-based system comprises a measurement device, a display, a processor, and logic instructions stored in a tangible computer-readable medium coupled to the processor which, when executed by the processor, configure the processor to determine a position and orientation in a real three dimensional space of the measurement device relative to at least one real object in the three dimensional space and render on the display, a perspective view of a virtual image of a virtual object corresponding to the real object in a virtual three-dimensional space, wherein the perspective view of the virtual object corresponds to the perspective view of the real object from the position of the measurement device.

US Patent:
20170199645, Jul 13, 2017
Filed:
Jun 10, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/178922
Inventors:
- CHICAGO IL, US
Kevin Puterbaugh - Auburn WA, US
William E. Ward - Bellevue WA, US
John C. Gass - Sammamish WA, US
Michael P. Sciarra - Seattle WA, US
Katherine I. Meza - Lynnwood WA, US
Steven E. Malarkey - Lynnwood WA, US
Nikoli E. Prazak - Renton WA, US
William J. McGarry - Federal Way WA, US
William J. Brown - Seattle WA, US
Jeffery A. Bus - Bothell WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 3/0481
G06F 3/0484
Abstract:
A method is provided that includes rendering for display, a digital three-dimensional (3D) model of a structural product composed of a plurality of parts, with the digital 3D model being observed from a home viewpoint. Input is received to navigate the digital 3D model to a part of the plurality of parts, observation of the digital 3D model being moved from the home viewpoint to a navigated viewpoint. A digital label is generated that includes information specifying the navigated viewpoint and includes information for the part. The digital label may be output to a label recorder configured to record the digital label on a physical medium and thereby produce a corresponding physical label. At least the navigated viewpoint of the digital 3D model in the digital label and corresponding physical label are in a machine-readable format and capable of being machine-read to automatically restore the digital 3D model at the navigated viewpoint.

Model For Managing Variations In A Product Structure For A Product

View page
US Patent:
20160162607, Jun 9, 2016
Filed:
Feb 12, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/042933
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Kevin D. Puterbaugh - Auburn WA, US
International Classification:
G06F 17/50
Abstract:
A product management system comprises a model and a data manager. The model includes design data for a product structure for a product. The model comprises a primary hierarchical organization of master objects, a number of secondary hierarchical organizations of version objects, and a change context organization for each of the master objects. The master objects include element objects and occurrence objects. A secondary hierarchical organization includes element version objects and occurrence version objects. The change context organization includes a group of variant objects and a group of branch instance objects. A branch instance object in the group of branch instance objects tracks a sequence of version objects for a corresponding design branch. The data manager manages changes to the design data for the product structure within each design branch independently of other design branches using the model, enabling manufacturing of the product with increased efficiency using the model.
