Intermodule Connection In Communication System

View page
US Patent:
20060057877, Mar 16, 2006
Filed:
Sep 14, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/940440
Inventors:
Mark Gill - Russiaville IN, US
Mark Jackson - Kokomo IN, US
Kerwin Osman - Kokomo IN, US
Garth Rummery - Evanston IL, US
Brad Smitley - Bunker Hill IN, US
International Classification:
H01R 13/62
US Classification:
439297000
Abstract:
A connector adapter facilitates establishing mechanical and electrical connections between two connectors. The connector adapter can be slid onto either of the two connectors and, when so slid, guides insertion of the other connector. In one embodiment, the connector adapter includes an adapter base located substantially within a plane. The adapter base defines an aperture to receive a first connector body having a first connector body height. A sleeve is proximate the adapter base. At least a portion of the sleeve extends in a direction substantially normal to the plane to a distance greater than the first connector body height. The sleeve has an inner width substantially equal to an outer width of a second connector body. The connector adapter can be slid onto one of the connector bodies and guides insertion of the other connector body to facilitate alignment of the connector bodies.

US Patent:
53195272, Jun 7, 1994
Filed:
Nov 20, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/979031
Inventors:
Morgan D. Murphy - Kokomo IN
Steven G. Skiver - Kokomo IN
David G. Beyerlein - Carmel IN
Kerwin C. Osman - Kokomo IN
Assignee:
Delco Electronics Corporation - Kokomo IN
International Classification:
G01D 1128
US Classification:
362 26
Abstract:
An illuminated apparatus comprises a fixedly mounted air core gage having a spindle which rotates in response to signals provided to the air core gage, a first coil fixably mounted with respect to the air core gage having a first axis coaxial with the spindle, a power source coupled to the first coil, providing power to the first coil, which responsively generates a magnetic flux, a pointer body mounted to the spindle and rotating in response to rotation of the gage spindle, a second coil mounted to the pointer body adjacent to the primary coil, a light source mounted on the pointer body, coupled to and receiving the electric current from the second coil, the electric current illuminating the light source, and a light pipe pointer arm receiving light from the light source and emitting light out of an exit surface to appear as an illuminated pointer to an observer.

US Patent:
57036250, Dec 30, 1997
Filed:
Oct 10, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/728578
Inventors:
Chris Ralph Snider - Kokomo IN
Kerwin Craig Osman - Kokomo IN
Assignee:
Delco Electronics Corporation
International Classification:
G09G 500
US Classification:
345168
Abstract:
A graphic display is provided which is suitable for use in an instrument panel of an automobile. The graphic display includes a display lens and a number of backlit buttons which are formed by a unitary optically-conductive member, wherein both the display lens and the backlit buttons are illuminated by a single illuminated display located behind the unitary member. As such, the unitary member eliminates the requirement for a separately formed lens and buttons. Furthermore, the illuminated display generates graphics for both the display lens and the buttons, eliminating the requirement for insignia formed in the surface of the buttons and lights or light pipes behind the buttons for backlighting the buttons.
