An apparatus for the production of mineral fiber or wool felts, blankets or batts having uniform thickness and density, comprising means for fiberizing the mineral composition, a housing defining a chamber into which the fibers are introduced, a foraminous belt upon which the fibers are deposited, a rotating brush for sweeping or throwing back excess fibers, thereby leaving a uniform layer of uncompressed fibers on the felt, and a roller for compressing the layer of fibers into a felt. The rotary brush removes the excess fibers and cooperates to provide a felt which is of uniform density and thickness.

A method of braking a machine having an electric retarding system and a friction brake system is disclosed. The method includes determining a desired retarding torque based at least in part on an operator input. The method further includes determining a maximum retarding torque of the electric retarding system based at least in part on a maximum grid fan speed. The maximum grid fan speed is predetermined according to a noise requirement of the machine. The method also includes actuating the electric retarding system to supply an output torque based on the desired retarding torque and the maximum retarding torque. The method includes actuating the friction brake system to supply a friction braking torque if the output torque is lesser than the desired retarding torque.

An electric drive control system for a machine is provided. The electric drive control system includes a sensor and a drivetrain control module operatively coupled to the sensor. The sensor is configured to determine one or more operational parameters associated with the machine. The drivetrain control module is further operatively coupled to a power source controller associated with a power source and a generator controller associated with a generator. The drivetrain control module is configured to determine a desired operating mode of the machine and selectively regulate one or parameters associated with the power source based on a predefined dataset corresponding to the desired operating mode of the machine. The drivetrain control module is further configured to selectively adjust an amount of power produced by the generator based on the predefined dataset corresponding to the desired operating mode of the machine.
