Abstract:
The invention pertains to a cartridge for use in packaging lead frames used in the manufacture of cer-dip integrated circuits, the cartridge having a tray and a cooperative top cover capable of forming for the frames a secure transit container, yet being quickly insertable and removable to and from operating stations where frames may be fed directly into and from the container, the cartridge including wall openings to allow processing of the frames while still in the cartridge and projection for restraining the frames from movement in the cartridge.

Abstract:
An injection molded, thermoplastic tray for storage and shipment of leadframes comprises a receptacle in the form of a rectangular base, and a plurality of dividers engageable with the base. The receptacle has first and second hinged side walls with outwardly extending flanges. The dividers have a first engaging member which engages with the first side wall to hold the same in an upward position and a second engaging member which is engageable with the second side wall when the second side wall is pivoted to an upward position to hold the same in the upward position. Notches are provided in the bore of the receptacle which are engaged with downwardly and outwardly hooks on the bottom of the divider. Stacking members in the form of upwardly extending saddles and outwardly extending pegs provide for stacking of one tray atop another.

The disclosure relates to providing locating eye point markings on two selected terminals of a cer-dip lead frame The eye point markings take the form of physical indentations on the outer ends of the terminals outside their coined areas. The markings are of a character sufficient to allow electromagnetic wave detections.
