Enhanced Superconductivity Of Fullerenes

View page
US Patent:
20160240765, Aug 18, 2016
Filed:
Feb 18, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/625219
Inventors:
- Aiken SC, US
Joseph A. Teprovich - Aiken SC, US
Ragaiy Zidan - Aiken SC, US
International Classification:
H01L 39/12
C07C 13/62
C07C 15/20
H01L 39/24
C01B 31/02
Abstract:
Methods for enhancing characteristics of superconductive fullerenes and devices incorporating the fullerenes are disclosed. Enhancements can include increase in the critical transition temperature at a constant magnetic field; the existence of a superconducting hysteresis over a changing magnetic field; a decrease in the stabilizing magnetic field required for the onset of superconductivity; and/or an increase in the stability of superconductivity over a large magnetic field. The enhancements can be brought about by transmitting electromagnetic radiation to the superconductive fullerene such that the electromagnetic radiation impinges on the fullerene with an energy that is greater than the band gap of the fullerene.

Recovery Of Tritium From Molten Lithium Blanket

View page
US Patent:
20160122881, May 5, 2016
Filed:
Nov 3, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/931018
Inventors:
- Aiken SC, US
David W. Babineau - Aiken SC, US
Hector R. Colon-Mercado - Aiken SC, US
Joseph A. Teprovich - Aiken SC, US
Luke C. Olson - North Augusta SC, US
Roderick E. Fuentes - Aiken SC, US
International Classification:
C25B 1/02
C25B 9/18
C25B 13/04
C25B 9/06
Abstract:
Electrochemical cells and methods are described that can be utilized for the recovery of tritium directly from a molten lithium metal solution without the need for a separation or concentration step prior to the electrolytic recovery process. The methods and systems utilize an on conducting electrolyte that conducts either lithium ion or tritide ion across the electrochemical cell.

Two Step Novel Hydrogen System Using Additives To Enhance Hydrogen Release From The Hydrolysis Of Alane And Activated Aluminum

View page
US Patent:
20140154172, Jun 5, 2014
Filed:
Dec 3, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/095033
Inventors:
- Aiken SC, US
Joseph A. Teprovich - Aiken SC, US
Theodore Motyka - Aiken SC, US
Assignee:
Savannah River Nuclear Solutions, LLC - Aiken SC
International Classification:
C01B 3/06
US Classification:
423657, 4236582
Abstract:
A system for the generation of hydrogen for use in portable power systems is set forth utilizing a two-step process that involves the thermal decomposition of AlH(10 wt % H) followed by the hydrolysis of the activated aluminum (Al*) byproduct to release additional H.Additionally, a process in which water is added directly without prior history to the AlH:PA composite is also disclosed,
