Controlling Distribution Of Resources On A Network

View page
US Patent:
20130254401, Sep 26, 2013
Filed:
Sep 20, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/623627
Inventors:
Erich Stuntebeck - Marietta GA, US
Gopinath Jayaprakash - Atlanta GA, US
John Joseph Manton - Alpharetta GA, US
Jonathan Blake Brannon - Mableton GA, US
Assignee:
AirWatch, LLC - Atlanta GA
International Classification:
H04L 12/70
US Classification:
709226
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for controlling distribution of resources on a network. In one embodiment, a distribution service receives a request from a client device to access resources hosted by a distribution service. In response, the distribution service determines whether the client device is authorized to access the distribution service. The distribution service identifies which of the resources hosted by the distribution service are accessible to the client device based on the resource grouping identifiers associated with the client device. The distribution service determines which distribution rules are associated with the identified resources, the distribution rules including location rules and time rules. The distribution service then transmits the identified resources and identified distribution rules to the client device, where the resources are configured to be exclusively accessible via a containerized client application on the client device while the client device satisfies the distribution rules associated with the resources.

Appl. No.:
17/932569
Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
Erich Stuntebeck - Atlanta GA, US
Gopinath Jayaprakash - Atlanta GA, US
John Joseph Manton - Atlanta GA, US
Jonathon Blake Brannon - Atlanta GA, US
International Classification:
H04L 47/70
G06F 21/31
G06F 21/62
H04L 9/40
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for controlling a distribution of resources on a network. In one example, among others, a system is configured to receive the plurality of resources and a plurality of rules. The system is also configured to determine an authorized location and an authorized area based on the plurality of rules. The authorized location and the authorized area are determined to have different access rights to the plurality of resources. The system is further configured to determine a location of the computing device and grant access to a resource based on the location of the computing device with respect to the authorization location or the authorized area.

G06F 21/31
G06F 21/62
Abstract:
Disclosed are various embodiments for controlling a distribution of resources on a network. In one embodiment, among others, a processor is configured to transmit a request to access resources at a distribution service and receives location rules associated with the resources. The location rules specify an authorized location and an authorized perimeter area. The authorized location and the authorized perimeter area specify different access rights to the resources. The processor can determine a location of a computing device and determine that the computing device is compliant with at least one of the location rules based on the location of the computing device. The processor is configured to transmit a compliance indication to the distribution service for the location rules and receive access to at least some of the resources from the distribution service.

Filed:
Oct 5, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/285966
Inventors:
- Atlanta GA, US
John Joseph Manton - Alpharetta GA, US
International Classification:
H04L 12/911
Abstract:
Various examples for controlling resources used by client devices are disclosed. A management application executing in at least one computing device can identify client devices executing an instance of a client application that are available for management, where the client application is configured to control at least one function of a respective one of the client devices. A mode of operation can be changed on the at least one computing device where at least one resource is shared with the client devices, such as on a display of the client devices. Through communication between the management application and the client application executing on individual ones of the client devices, access to the at least one function can be restricted while the at least one resource is shared with the plurality of client devices.
