The invention relates to polypeptides that are sperm-specific forms of the catalytic subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinases, referred to herein as âC polypeptides,â nucleic acid molecules encoding C polypeptides, and uses thereof. C is found in sperm cells and is related to the cAMP dependent protein kinase C1.
