Rotatable Cutting Tool With Notched Radial Fins

View page
US Patent:
6341823, Jan 29, 2002
Filed:
May 22, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/576151
Inventors:
Jimmie L. Sollami - Herrin IL
Assignee:
The Sollami Company - Carterville IL
International Classification:
E21C 3518
US Classification:
299110, 299 791, 299101
Abstract:
A rotatable cutting tool for earth displacement equipment for maximizing penetration into hard rock during mining, trenching, drilling, or boring operations. The bit penetrator pocket protector for earth displacement equipment includes a body which defines an upper bit end and a lower shank end. The upper bit end defines a bit insert opening configured to detachably accept a penetrator bit tip. The lower shank end is configured to be securable to a penetrator holder that is welded to an implement of earth working equipment such as the chain excavator or a rotatable drum, or the like. A flange, or pocket protector, is defined between the upper and lower ends in order to provide protection for the bit penetrator lower end and a holder in which it is received by minimizing rock and earth fines from contacting and building up between the holder and bit penetrator. Further, the flange acts as a load bearing surface between the bit penetrator and the holder, thereby protecting the lower end of the bit penetrator and the face and bore of the holder. A plurality of fins are defined between the flange and the upper end in order strengthen the integrity of the bit penetrator.

Filtration Housing Unit For Use With A Ventilated Toilet Seat

View page
US Patent:
6360377, Mar 26, 2002
Filed:
Jun 8, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/877594
Inventors:
Jimmie L. Sollami - Herrin IL, 62948
International Classification:
E03D 9052
US Classification:
4213
Abstract:
A filtration housing unit for use with a ventilated toilet seat. The filtration housing unit is designed for filtering air evacuated from a toilet using the ventilated toilet seat. The housing is configured to be mounted on a wall behind a toilet and under the toilet tank such that it is substantially concealed from view. At least one evacuation hose is attached to the underneath of the housing and extends to the ventilated toilet seat to establish fluid communication from the interior of the toilet bowl to the interior of the housing. The housing is provided for enclosing the components of a fan assembly for drawing the noxious odors from within the toilet bowl. At least one hose receptacle is provided for receiving the proximal end of at least one hose. Each hose is provided with an enlarged radius at the proximal end thereof, and is fabricated from a flexible material such as plastic. An air filter is carried within the housing to condition air.

Roof Bit Carbide Blade

View page
US Patent:
6817429, Nov 16, 2004
Filed:
Oct 3, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/264121
Inventors:
Jimmie Sollami - Herrin IL, 62948
International Classification:
E21B 1046
US Classification:
1754201, 175427
Abstract:
A roof bit blade insert for use in mining and other associated applications. The blade defines two opposing faces, each having a leading end and a trailing end. The blade defines an indexed protrusion disposed at either or both of the leading and trailing ends of each face. A centered protrusion is defined on several embodiments. Each of the protrusions are provided to strengthen the blade and to assist in centering the blade in a drill body slot. The protrusions defined by the leading and trailing ends of the blade are defined by either an arcuate configuration, a compound curve, an outward taper from the center of the blade, or a selected location along the leading end, to the outer edge thereof. The drill body defines a transverse slot for mounting the blade, the slot having opposing parallel faces adapted to loosely receive the blade such that it is centered therein.

Drill Blades For Drill Bit

View page
US Patent:
6968912, Nov 29, 2005
Filed:
Dec 12, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/318258
Inventors:
Phillip A. Sollami - Herrin IL, US
Jimmie Lee Sollami - Herrin IL, US
Assignee:
The Sollami Company - Herrin IL
International Classification:
E21B010/58
US Classification:
1754201, 175427, 175430
Abstract:
A drill bit consists of a bit body having a forward end and a slot in the forward end to hold a hardened cutting blade. The blade has a central slot extending into the forward end thereof such that the slot defines inner side wails and a bridge extending between the inner side walls. A protrusion along the leading face of each of the cutting sides of the blade with each protrusion extending to the forward edge extends the length of the cutting edges and by distributing the load along a greater length reduces the stress to the cutting edge. Protrusions along the trailing face of the blade also extern to the cutting edge and increase the strength of the blade.
