Speed Reducing Device

View page
US Patent:
40234410, May 17, 1977
Filed:
Jan 21, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/651153
Inventors:
Jean-Pierre F. Osterwalder - Vienna VA
International Classification:
F16H 128
US Classification:
74805
Abstract:
A speed reducing device which is capable of large speed reductions and torque multiplication in a single stage is disclosed. The device includes input and output shafts in axial alignment, together with a transformer gear component having primary and secondary gears which rotate together. The primary gear engages a fixed gear spline while the secondary gear engages a rotatable output gear spline. This combination of gears, together with an eccentric and counterweight mounted on the input shaft, provides a system having numerous advantages in the field of high-ratio mechanical power transmission.

Micromagnetic Circuit

US Patent:
51593475, Oct 27, 1992
Filed:
Nov 14, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/436077
Inventors:
Jean-Pierre F. Osterwalder - Vienna VA
Assignee:
E-Systems, Inc. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
H01Q 100
US Classification:
343787
Abstract:
Microscopic strips of high permeability magnetic conductor are arrayed in a proximate relation to an electrical conductor to form paths for magnetic circuits about the electrical conductor. The strips may take various forms including filaments, such as one hundred micron microwire, and deposited submicron-sized layers of amorphorous magnetic material. The magnetic circuits may be closed with the strips forming a plurality of bands around the electrical conductor, and the magnetic circuits may be open, such as with the strips arrayed linearly adjacent to the electrical conductor. The magnetic circuits have numerous applications, including a variety of antennas, inductive wires, antenna ground planes, inductive surfaces, magnetic sensors, and direction finding arrays.

Root Ball Clamp

US Patent:
41798473, Dec 25, 1979
Filed:
Jul 20, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/926381
Inventors:
Jean-Pierre F. Osterwalder - Vienna VA
International Classification:
A01G 2304
A01G 2306
US Classification:
47 76
Abstract:
An improved protective clamp for the root ball portion of a tree is disclosed. The clamp includes a plurality of arcuate plate members, each of which is provided with an outwardly extending foot portion at the lower end thereof. Raised re-inforcing ribs on the sides of each plate and a tie bar at the upper end thereof are additional features which provide a greatly improved protection for the root ball during removal of the tree from the ground, or when the tree is being transported, stored, or other-wise handled prior to planting, compared with the traditional "ball-burlapping".
