A method for enabling a mobile device to view one or more slides in a presentation is provided. A method for coordinating the remote participation of a client device in a meeting within a network comprising the client device and one or more nodes, the meeting involving a multimedia presentation. According to one embodiment, the method includes receiving an invitation for the client device to participate in the meeting, where a user will participate in the meeting using the client device. Temporal information for the meeting is stored. Furthermore, it is determined whether or not to notify the user of the meeting based on the stored temporal information or other information. In the event that the user should be notified, it is determined when to notify the user of the meeting based on the stored temporal information. One or more messages about the meeting are sent for the meeting. In one embodiment, the one or more messages about the meeting includes a reminder to join the meeting.
