Abstract:
A card retention system includes a chassis comprising a chassis wall. A plurality of actuation channels are defined by the chassis wall. Each of the plurality of actuation channels includes an unsecured section, a secured section, and an arcuate section extending between the unsecured section and the secured section. A securing member is coupled to the chassis wall through the plurality of actuation channels. The securing member is operable to move relative to the chassis wall along a path defined by the plurality of actuation channels. A plurality of engagement members are located on the securing member. The securing member may be moved through the plurality of actuation channels to retain a plurality of cards in the chassis.

Emi Shielding Scheme Using Sandwiched Sheet Metal

US Patent:
8169778, May 1, 2012
Filed:
Jun 18, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/818776
Inventors:
Jean Doglio - Pflugerville TX, US
Steven J. Zielnicki - Round Rock TX, US
Vibora Sim - Pflugerville TX, US
Assignee:
Dell Products L.P. - Round Rock TX
International Classification:
G06F 1/16
US Classification:
36167902, 312352, 345208, 174377, 43960701
Abstract:
A peripheral card EMI shielding scheme which comprises a sandwich of three layers. The first layer comprises a chassis rear wall (e. g. , constructed of sheet metal). The next layer, which in certain embodiments is the middle of the sandwich, comprises a relatively thin plate (e. g. , 0. 15 mm+/−0. 1 mm) with spring arms. The third layer comprises a sheet metal plate (in certain embodiments, the third layer has a similar thickness to the rear wall). The thick sheet metal plate completely covers the thin plate, except for areas where the spring arms protrude. The three plates are staked together by a method similar to an extrude-and-roll process (e. g. , where one piece is fastened to another without the need for additional hardware or welding).

The second portion is adapted to flexibly slide over the connector housing and snap fit the second hook around the connector housing.

Information Handling System With Modular Fan Gantry Having Different Mounting Variations

View page
US Patent:
20200037466, Jan 30, 2020
Filed:
Jul 27, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/047995
Inventors:
- Round Rock TX, US
Jean Doglio - Round Rock TX, US
International Classification:
H05K 7/20
H05K 7/14
Abstract:
An information handling system includes a server chassis and a fan gantry. The server chassis has a first bracket secured to a first edge of the server chassis, a second bracket secured to a second edge of the server chassis, and a center mount secured to a bottom of the server chassis. The fan gantry has multiple fans, a first block secured to a first end of the fan gantry, a second block secured to a second end of the fan gantry, and an opening in a center of a bottom surface of the fan gantry. The first block interfaces with the first bracket, the second block interfaces with the second bracket, and the center mount inserts within the opening to mount the fan gantry to the server chassis.

Systems And Methods For Mounting Air Mover To Create Thermal Seal And Minimize Vibrational Noise

View page
US Patent:
20190373764, Dec 5, 2019
Filed:
Jun 5, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/000222
Inventors:
- Round Rock TX, US
Jean Marie DOGLIO - Round Rock TX, US
Assignee:
Dell Products L.P. - Round Rock TX
International Classification:
H05K 7/20
G06F 1/20
Abstract:
An air mover assembly may be configured such that during insertion of the assembly into an air mover gantry, one or more spring features integral to the gantry apply a first spring force opposite to a direction of insertion of the assembly relative to the gantry in order to maintain the assembly in an unseated position until the first spring force is overcome by an opposite force to fully seat assembly into the gantry and when the assembly is fully seated within the gantry, the one or more spring features integral to the gantry apply a second spring force to the assembly in a direction of air flow through an air mover of the assembly that biases an exhaust portion of the air mover toward a face of the gantry opposite of the one or more spring features.
