Household Energy Management System Utilizing Multiple Scales Of Time

View page
US Patent:
20220221890, Jul 14, 2022
Filed:
Jan 13, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/147512
Inventors:
- Benton Harbor MI, US
Jason Schneemann - St. Joseph MI, US
Kevin Y. Zhang - St. Joseph MI, US
Assignee:
WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION - Benton Harbor MI
International Classification:
G05F 1/66
G01D 4/14
H02J 3/14
H02J 13/00
Abstract:
An electricity management system for a residential setting includes a controller that is coupled with a plurality of appliances. A plurality of sensors are coupled with the controller and respectively coupled to the plurality of appliances. The controller cooperates with the sensors and the appliances to generate a demand response plan for delivering electrical power to the plurality of appliances. The demand response plan includes a shifting strategy that regulates a delivery of electrical power based upon a regional pattern of electrical consumption, a shedding strategy that maintains a household consumption of electrical power below a household upper consumption limit and a modulating strategy based upon the respective operating cycles of the plurality of appliances that prevents a simultaneous peak electrical event within more than one appliance of the plurality of appliances. The shifting strategy, the shedding strategy and the modulating strategy are implemented contemporaneously.

Precipitation Reclamation Storage System For Use In A Structure

View page
US Patent:
20200291622, Sep 17, 2020
Filed:
Jun 2, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/889950
Inventors:
- BENTON HARBOR MI, US
Andria Bauman - Stevensville MI, US
Jason Schneemann - St. Joseph MI, US
Ronald L. Voglewede - St. Joseph MI, US
Elizabeth Bourgeois - Baroda MI, US
Eric J. Bowler - Milan, IT
Assignee:
WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION - BENTON HARBOR MI
International Classification:
E03B 1/04
Abstract:
A precipitation reclamation system includes a downspout adapter configured to receive runoff precipitation from a precipitation channel for a structure. The downspout adapter is configured to attach to the structure at a vent that places an interior of the structure in communication with an area external to the structure. A reclamation chamber is disposed within an appliance housing. The reclamation chamber has a pump. A reclamation conduit extends from the downspout adapter to the reclamation chamber and is configured to direct the precipitation to the reclamation chamber to define reclaimed water. The pump is adapted to deliver the reclaimed water from the reclamation chamber to a portion of the structure for use.

US Patent:
20200281401, Sep 10, 2020
Filed:
May 21, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/879888
Inventors:
- BENTON HARBOR MI, US
Christopher D. Cullen - Stevensville MI, US
Timothy A. Mayberry - St. Joseph MI, US
Jason Schneemann - St. Joseph MI, US
Mary A. Watson - Michigan City IN, US
Assignee:
WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION - BENTON HARBOR MI
International Classification:
A47J 37/06
F24C 15/16
A47J 36/24
Abstract:
A cooking assembly includes a grill rack having a peripheral portion defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires bound by a peripheral frame. An inner retention portion is defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires generally co-planar with the plurality of laterally extending wires of the peripheral portion. The inner retention portion includes a retention border adapted to removably engage the drip tray. A drip tray is configured to removably engage the retention border, thereby securing the drip tray laterally. One of a searing pan and a cooking stone is configured to be received in the drip tray.

Steam Generation System For Use In Cooking Appliance

View page
US Patent:
20190125121, May 2, 2019
Filed:
Dec 26, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/232485
Inventors:
- Benton Harbor MI, US
Nicholas E. Crow - St. Joseph MI, US
Jason Schneemann - St. Joseph MI, US
Assignee:
WHIRLPOOL CORPORATION - Benton Harbor MI
International Classification:
A47J 27/04
F24C 15/32
F22B 37/26
F22B 1/28
Abstract:
A steam generator system for a cooking appliance includes an in-line heating element coupled to a heating tube, wherein water from a water reservoir is gravitationally fed into the heating tube for heating by the in-line heating element to produce a hot water and steam mixture. A first supply line is coupled to the heating tube to carry the mixture to a separator without the need for moving or complex pump parts. The separator separates steam and hot water from the mixture of the two. A second supply line is coupled to the separator at a first end and opens into the cooking cavity of the cooking appliance at a second end. The second supply line is configured to supply steam separated at the separator to the cooking cavity via a steam outlet disposed in the cooking cavity.
