A detector and alarm is provided for monitoring air pressure variations in a monitored space, which variations correspond to an intrusion. An infra-sonic detector includes a microphone or the like and a low pass filter to retain only low frequency infra-sonic signals or a bandpass filter to retain a particular range of frequencies between approximately 5 Hz and 12 Hz. The instantaneous infra-sonic signals are compared against a variable reference signal, which is a voltage lagging or delayed variant of the instantaneous signals. In this manner the detector is self adjusting for slow variations in the instantaneous signals but responds immediately to rapid variations to trigger an alarm. In one embodiment the detector only senses negative going air pressure changes to trigger an alarm in order to minimize the incidence of false alarms.

A system for converting the output of a constant speed motor to variable fluidic flow at the ends of a linear actuator comprising a drive gear coupled with an electric motor for concurrent rotation at a fixed rotational speed; a driven gear operatively coupled to the drive gear; a drive train operable in response to rotation of the drive gear to rotate the driven gear, the gear train including adjustment mechanisms for selectively varying the rotational orientation between the drive and driven gears; a pump having a pair of spaced cylinders in axial alignment with pistons coupled through a reciprocal connecting shaft and with a connector rod pinned at its midpoint to the connecting shaft for oscillation; rigid links coupling the ends of the connector rod with the drive and driven gears so that rotation of the drive and driven gears will oscillate the connecting rod and reciprocate the connecting shaft at a speed correlated to the orientation of the adjustment mechanisms of the gear train; and fluidic lines coupling the outputs of the cylinders to the ends of a linear actuator so that adjustment of the gear train will vary the output of the pump to vary the fluidic flow to the linear actuator.

A submerged panel latch having an eccentric cam rotatable in the plane of the panel near the panel outer surface and accessible to the user, a latch rotor engaged by the cam and rotatable in a plane perpendicular to that of the cam, inward facing strikers on facing edges of a pair of facing panels, at least one of which is removable at the opposite edge thereof, and concentric openings in said pair of strikers which are concentric and through which said latch rotor is extendable in the closed or locked position of the panels and from which it is withdrawn in the unlocked position.
