Career is a word that is as amebic as any living organism, creature or being. Some are formed through conception of will and determination, some created out of passion and drive, some by mere combustion of being in the right place at the right time. However formed or created, our careers speak to the true inner fiber that connects us to the fabric of life as it was meant to interact and coexist with one another. Imagine, you are doing what you think it is that you want to do, then all of a sudden, that what you thought you wanted to do was further away than what it is you were meant to be doing, assigned, or even called as some would say. A certain fiber way out of sight connected with the fabric to create destiny. Such was the day when James B. Kynes, Jr. in route home from the offices of MadisonSmallwood Financial Group where he was creating a sports division for the premier business management firm. Recently downsized out of corporate America as an office equipment salesman, Mr. Kynes wanted nothing more than to become a business manager for athletes and entertainers. Well, destiny didn’t deny, but in the strangest way, delayed. For in that car, on that day, he heard, “Turn into that barbershop”, calling on his barbering skills that he began cultivating since the age of twelve and through college where he groomed classmates as he accomplished his degree in Marketing Management from Mars Hill College. “No no” James cried, knowing what the call was. So obediently, James made the turn. And the creation took its first breath. Learning from the most skilled groomers, James quickly elevated his business skills by refining them to work in the barber industry. He quickly transitioned by becoming the manager for the 24hr Barbershop in Buckhead. While there, he attended Barney Fletcher Realty U and received a real estate license to continue to hone the vision of becoming the premier business broker. As fate would grow, James partnered with an international business man and co-founded The Arena Barbershop, and coined the phrase “Where the Pro Barbers Play”. As the operating partner, James staffed and procured the shop participating in the V-103 car and bike shows, For Sisters Only, and The Bridal Affair. Continuing with a silent passion to cultivate his business broker passion, James formed The J. Rushman Group, Inc. a business management firm, specializing in advanced business facilitation and strategic implementation. James affiliated the real estate division with Keller Williams Realty, The Rushman Realty Group and positioned the company for and international presence for commercial and residential real estate service. James has since leveraged the real estate and grooming experiences to form the culmination of the renaissance mind and being with the creation of The Kings of Atlanta Grooming Lounge and Spa, LLC. Understanding the demands of the business man, father, son, husband, James creates an environment fit for the King in men offering fine men haircuts, custom tailoring service, shoe shine, spa amenities which include, hand and foot detailing, relaxing King massages, and soothing facials. James is married to Che’ Kynes and they enjoy two children, Jazmin and Ivan. James and Che’ have grown up in the Atlanta area, James Decatur and Che’ Atlanta. They enjoy spending as much time together and enjoy helping and assisting others empower themselves by education and giving. Che’ has been with James throughout the entire process as they live prosperously through hard work and faith.
