Multi-Function Heat Exchanger

View page
US Patent:
7221859, May 22, 2007
Filed:
Nov 30, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/290380
Inventors:
William C. Stumphauzer - Elyria OH, US
Hugh F. Groth - Richfield OH, US
Assignee:
Liquamelt Corp. - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
B05B 1/24
US Classification:
392473, 392465
Abstract:
A multi-function heat exchanger for use with a dispensing gun for dispensing hybrid plastisol hot melt material, the heat exchanger having an elongated tubular high temperature heater assembly having a front end hydraulically connected to an inlet port of a dispensing gun and a rear end connected to a heat dissipating assembly which in turn is connected to the outlet end of a supply hose for providing hybrid plastisol material which is liquid at room temperature and under sufficient hydraulic pressure to move the plastisol material through the heat dissipating assembly and the high temperature heater assembly into the dispensing gun when the gun is operated. The heater assembly has a heat source providing sufficient heat to turn the plastisol into a molten liquid as it passes into the dispensing gun. The heat dissipating assembly prevents heat from the high temperature heater assembly from migrating back into the plastisol supply hose.

Automatic Drain Valve With Pneumatic Actuation

View page
US Patent:
20010032669, Oct 25, 2001
Filed:
Feb 27, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/794843
Inventors:
William Stumphauzer - Elyria OH, US
Hugh Groth - Richfield OH, US
Assignee:
Precision Pneumatics, LLC
International Classification:
F16T001/20
US Classification:
137/195000
Abstract:
A float actuated drain system for reservoirs containing pressurized air and/or liquids such as drain valves for traps used in the accumulation of condensate materials from pneumatic systems opens and closes a drain valve depending upon the water level in the reservoir. The drain valve uses internal pressure released from within the reservoir through a normally closed orifice and passing through a tube to operate a drain valve actuator. A lever pivotally mounted inside the reservoir has a float on one end and a stopper on the opposite end which closes the orifice when the liquid level in the reservoir is low and which moves away from the orifice when the fluid reaches a high level in the reservoir to release pressure through the orifice to operate the valve actuator and open the drain valve. After the liquid drains from the reservoir, the float moves to a lower position and the stopper closes the orifice.

High Speed Process And Apparatus For Carbonating Water

View page
US Patent:
51925133, Mar 9, 1993
Filed:
Jul 26, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/736628
Inventors:
William C. Stumphauzer - Elyria OH
Hugh F. Groth - Richfield OH
L. Scot Duncan - Independence OH
International Classification:
A23L 226
B01J 800
US Classification:
422305
Abstract:
A process and apparatus for rapidly carbonating water for use in applications such as beverage mixes by producing carbon dioxide gas by chemical reaction within a first pressure vessel, transferring the carbon dioxide to a second pressure vessel where it is injected under pressure beneath the water in the second pressure vessel to carbonate the water therein while maintaining sufficient pressure to prevent dissolved carbon dioxide from coming out of solution in the water and for dispensing the carbonated water upon demand. Restrictive venting of the second pressure vessel may be used if needed, to aid in the transfer of carbon dioxide from the first to the second pressure vessel.

Portable Corn Popper

View page
US Patent:
41788435, Dec 18, 1979
Filed:
Feb 6, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/875339
Inventors:
Steven B. Crabtree - Chillicothe OH
Hugh F. Groth - Brecksville OH
Guilbert M. Hunt - Brecksville OH
Thomas E. Lipinski - Bath OH
James T. McMaster - Chillicothe OH
Guy R. Moffitt - Chillicothe OH
Anthony D. Szpak - Parma OH
Robert A. Williams - Chillicothe OH
Assignee:
Wear-Ever Aluminum, Inc. - Chillicothe OH
International Classification:
A23L 118
US Classification:
993238
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for popping corn by heated air which is circulated in a cylindrical popping chamber having a vertical axis to provide a fluidized bed of swirling and circulating corn to be popped. As the corn is popped, it is lifted upwardly by the moving air and volume of popped corn to form a column of floating corn above the popping chamber and the popped corn is discharged through the open top of the chamber.

Single Lever Mixing Valve

View page
US Patent:
40208710, May 3, 1977
Filed:
Mar 1, 1976
Appl. No.:
5/662495
Inventors:
Hugh F. Groth - Brecksville OH
Carl E. Bochmann - Brecksville OH
Guilbert M. Hunt - Brecksville OH
Assignee:
Crane Co. - New York NY
International Classification:
F16K 706
F16K 1118
US Classification:
1376361
Abstract:
A liquid mixing valve having a single handle for mixing hot and cold water which incorporates a pair of resilient, tube-like squeeze elements for water passage. A pair of cams, controlled by the handle through a linkage arrangement, restrict the cross-sectional area of the squeeze elements thereby regulating the hot and cold water flow rates.

Compactor Refuse And Other Materials

View page
US Patent:
42756510, Jun 30, 1981
Filed:
May 15, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/151196
Inventors:
Hugh F. Groth - Brecksville OH
Guilbert M. Hunt - Brecksville OH
Ronald E. Shaner - Rossburg OH
Assignee:
Lambert Corporation - Dayton OH
International Classification:
B30B 1500
US Classification:
100229A
Abstract:
A cabinet has an upper portion which encloses a ram member movable vertically by a motor driven scissor-type actuator from an upper retracted position to a lower extended compacting position within a container positioned within the lower portion of the cabinet. The container is molded of a plastics material and is supported by a two-wheeled cart including pivotal arms which extend around an intermediate portion of the container and are locked together for restraining the container during compacting. When the container is tilted by the cart into a compacting position under the ram member, the container actuates a sealing frame which lowers and engages the upper rim of the container for confining within the upper portion of the cabinet any odors released by the material being compacted within the container.

Gas Generator Attachment

View page
US Patent:
55490379, Aug 27, 1996
Filed:
Oct 20, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/546534
Inventors:
William C. Stumphauzer - Elyria OH
Hugh F. Groth - Richfield OH
John K. Duncan - Solon OH
Assignee:
Effervescent Products, LLC - Lorain OH
International Classification:
A23L 200
B01F 300
US Classification:
993231
Abstract:
A portable lightweight gas generation device which can be attached to a container to generate a quantity of gas from a mixture of two chemically reactive materials and to inject the gas into the container. The device is especially useful as an apparatus for rapidly carbonating liquid beverages with chemically generated carbon dioxide produced in a gas generation chamber located inside a pressure vessel attached to a liquid container which serves as a carbonation chamber containing the liquid to be carbonated. The generated carbon dioxide is passed from the gas generation chamber to the carbonation chamber to carbonate the liquid. This device can also be used as a means of injecting pressurized gas into a pressurized spray can for dispensing liquids such as paint, hair spray or other sprayable products.
