Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for sensing window configuration for sidelink based ranging and positioning. For example, during sidelink-based ranging or sensing, a user equipment (UE) may determine the relative distance or position with other UEs. This may be realized by a UE broadcasting a wideband position reference signal (PRS) on an unlicensed band and measuring the round-trip time associated with a peer UE's PRS. The measurement accounts for a PRS transmission time transmitted by each UE. The UE may apply a sensing window to determine whether a neighboring UE has reserved PRS transmission times. The present disclosure provides methods and techniques for a network entity to configure a sensing window in a UE so that the UE may determine, during the sensing window, whether neighboring UEs have reserved a PRS transmission time.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive a message indicating a configuration for a first active duration for the first UE, the first active duration being for a reversed communication direction during an active duration of a first discontinuous cycle for sidelink communications. The first UE may transmit a sidelink signal to the second UE, and may activate the first time active duration during the active duration of the first discontinuous cycle. Upon activating the first active duration, the first UE may switch from a transmission mode to a reception mode, and may receive a sidelink response message from the second UE during the first active duration. Based on receiving the sidelink response message, the first UE may switch back to the transmission mode to the reception mode during the first active duration, and may terminate the first active duration.

Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured to perform groupcast transmission on a sidelink channel of a high frequency band, such as a millimeter wave (mmW) band. The UE may transmit, via a sidelink channel, beamformed repetitions of a packet in multiple directions corresponding to multiple quality of service (QoS) profiles configured for transmission of the packet. The UE may determine precoders to transmit the packet in the multiple directions. Each repetition of the packet may be associated with a separate hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) process. The UE may perform precoder cycling to transmit the packet in the multiple directions, and the UE may retransmit the packet in directions where the initial transmission was unsuccessful.

A UE transmits, to at least one UE, a PRS request message, the transmitted PRS request message including one or more parameters including at least one of: an SL ranging protocol version, one or more supported PRS channels, a supported per-channel PRS bandwidth, an initiator UE-assigned PRS Tx time, or a post-PRS Tx time.
