Dual Beam Laser Module

View page
US Patent:
7726061, Jun 1, 2010
Filed:
Mar 13, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/802115
Inventors:
Heinz F. Thummel - Corral de Tierra CA, US
Assignee:
Laser Devices, Inc. - Monterey CA
International Classification:
F41G 1/35
US Classification:
42115, 42117
Abstract:
A dual beam laser aiming module for a firearm has a dual-laser alignment housing with a first IR laser assembly in a first cavity and that provides a first beam axis. A second visible laser assembly is adjustably located in a second cavity to provide a second beam having an axis parallel to the first beam axis. A housing for the dual-laser alignment housing is adapted to be fixed to the firearm. The dual-laser alignment housing has a rounded exterior surface that interfaces with a corresponding rounded surface in the interior of the cavity of the laser housing. The dual-laser alignment housing is adjustably pivoted with respect to the laser housing with a four-point laser alignment mechanism to align the parallel first and second axes further in parallel to a centerline of a barrel of the firearm.

Floating Side Rail Clamp Weapon Accessory Mount Adaptor

View page
US Patent:
8393105, Mar 12, 2013
Filed:
Apr 29, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/769808
Inventors:
Heinz Thummel - Salinas CA, US
Assignee:
Laser Devices, Inc. - Monterey CA
International Classification:
F41C 27/00
F41G 1/387
US Classification:
42 90, 42127
Abstract:
A floating side rail clamp weapon accessory mount adaptor includes a stationary side rail clamp, a floating side rail clamp, and a leaf spring system that replaces prior art biasing plates. The floating side rail clamp moves as a single unit under evenly increasing influence provided by the leaf spring system coupled to the floating side rail clamp. The floating side rail clamp moves as a single unit such that a floating side rail clamp engagement surface of the floating side rail clamp remains substantially parallel to corresponding portion of a stationary side rail clamp engagement surface of the stationary side rail clamp as the floating side rail clamp moves, as a unit, towards the stationary side rail clamp in a direction substantially perpendicular to the stationary side rail clamp engagement surface.

Modular Sighting Laser For A Firearm

View page
US Patent:
55818986, Dec 10, 1996
Filed:
Jul 30, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/100101
Inventors:
Heinz Thummel - Salinas CA
Assignee:
Laser Devices, Inc. - Monterey CA
International Classification:
F41G 132
US Classification:
33241
Abstract:
A compact and rugged sighting laser adapted to be mounted on the trigger guard of a firearm such as a handgun. The sighting laser includes a mounting block having a slot adapted to engage the trigger guard, and a housing configured to engage the mounting block. The mounting block includes a hardened retention pin disposed at one end of the block adjacent the slot, and the housing includes a rearward extending plate with a groove configured to receive this pin. The housing further defines first and second bores generally parallel to one another and oriented toward a forward end of the housing. A laser module is disposed in an ellipsoidally shaped casing that fits within the first housing bore, while a battery for the laser fits within the second bore. Threaded screws disposed at a forward end of the housing at right angles to one another press against one end of the ellipsoidal casing in order to provide orientation of the laser with respect to a target point of the firearm. A pair of activation switches are further disposed on opposing sides of the firearm to permit ambidextrous activation of the laser assembly.

Shock Absorbent Flashlight Bulb And Reflector Assembly

View page
US Patent:
61831069, Feb 6, 2001
Filed:
Mar 4, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/262944
Inventors:
Heinz F. Thummel - Salinas CA
Robert S. Szemeredi - Soquel CA
Chanchal M. Singh - Salinas CA
Assignee:
Streamlight, Inc. - Norristown PA
International Classification:
F21L 400
US Classification:
362188
Abstract:
A flashlight bulb is mounted to a cylindrical bulb chassis such that the base of the light bulb is spaced apart from the top surface of the bulb chassis. A layer of resilient silicone material is positioned in the clearance space between the space-dapart base of the light bulb and the front surface of the bulb chassis to provide cushioning for axial and radial movement of the light bulb. A heat resistant resilient O-ring is inserted in an enlarged rear portion of the central bore of a reflector housing such that the internal surface of the O-ring slip fits around the cylindrical body of the light bulb to cushion the light bulb for radial movements of the light bulb and so that the light bulb remains mechanically and optically aligned with the central axis. For good cushioning the durometer of the O-ring is between 60-70 and the durometer of the silicone layer is between 50-60. The thickness of the O-ring is chosen to be sufficient to absorb shock from the bulb and the O-ring slip fits around the bulb to assure proper mechanical and optical alignment to the central axis of the bulb.

Laser System Mounting Device

View page
US Patent:
57584486, Jun 2, 1998
Filed:
Jan 2, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/774737
Inventors:
Heinz F. Thummel - Salinas CA
Assignee:
Laser Devices, Inc. - Monterey CA
International Classification:
F41G 136
US Classification:
42103
Abstract:
A mounting system attaches directly to a square or round trigger guard of a firearm. A separate trigger guard mount assembly includes a base having a groove formed therein for receiving a forward portion of a trigger guard of the firearm. A trigger guard mount clamp for attaches the trigger guard mount base to the forward portion of a trigger guard. A screw-operated clamp removably attaches a light housing assembly to the trigger guard mount assembly where the light housing contains a laser light source or a light bulb. A dovetail is formed on the trigger guard mount base to engage a dovetailed slot on the light housing, where the dovetailed slot is adjustable in width for releasably capturing the dovetail of the trigger guard mount base. The trigger guard mount assembly also includes set screws for fixing the trigger guard mount assembly in position on the forward portion of the trigger guard of the firearm. One or more shims are contained within the groove of the trigger guard mounting assembly.
