Optimally Sorting A List Of Elements Based On Their Singletons

View page
US Patent:
20130166281, Jun 27, 2013
Filed:
Oct 8, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/646816
Inventors:
Guillaume Lamy - Chicago IL, US
Assignee:
CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS, INC. - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
G06F 17/27
US Classification:
704 9
Abstract:
A method provides a non-optimized list of elements, with some of the elements having multiple terms. A table of sub-elements is generated from the elements list, with each sub-element having one term only and with a number of times a sub-element appears in the elements list being weighted in the sub-elements table. A weighted singleton histogram table is generated using a singleton dictionary, and a total popularity score of each singleton is computed from the sub-elements table. For each element from the elements list, an elements score is generated based on the total popularity score of each singleton within the element. An optimally sorted list of the elements list is generated based on the elements scores.

Dynamically Increased Noise Suppression Based On Input Noise Characteristics

View page
US Patent:
20180075836, Mar 15, 2018
Filed:
May 2, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/584786
Inventors:
- Auburn Hills MI, US
Guillaume Lamy - Chicago IL, US
Bijal Joshi - Elk Grove Village IL, US
International Classification:
G10K 11/34
G10K 11/178
G10K 11/04
A61B 6/00
Abstract:
A maximum noise suppression level (G) is not a single constant value for an entire frequency range, but is allowed to vary across frequencies. The amount of variation is dynamically computed based on the input noise characteristics. For example, if there is excess noise in the lower frequency region, the maximum noise suppression level in that region will increase to suppress the noise in that frequency region. This feature can be enabled all the time, and will be active when the input conditions warrant extra noise suppression in a particular frequency region. Thus, the effort involved in manually tuning an audio system (e.g., hands-free telephony, voice-controlled automotive head unit, etc.) can be significantly reduced or eliminated.

Externally Estimated Snr Based Modifiers For Internal Mmse Calculations

View page
US Patent:
20170004843, Jan 5, 2017
Filed:
Sep 19, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/269535
Inventors:
- Auburn Hills MI, US
Guillaume Lamy - Chicago IL, US
International Classification:
G10L 21/0232
G10L 25/84
Abstract:
Acoustic noise in an audio signal is reduced by calculating a speech probability presence (SPP) factor using minimum mean square error (MMSE). The SPP factor, which has a value typically ranging between zero and one, is modified or warped responsive to a value obtained from the evaluation of a sigmoid function, the shape of which is determined by a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which is obtained by an evaluation of the signal energy and noise energy output from a microphone over time. The shape and aggressiveness of the sigmoid function is determined using an extrinsically-determined SNR, not determined by the MMSE determination.

Accurate Forward Snr Estimation Based On Mmse Speech Probability Presence

US Patent:
20150127329, May 7, 2015
Filed:
Nov 7, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/074423
Inventors:
Guillaume Lamy - Chicago IL, US
Bijal Joshi - Schaumburg IL, US
Assignee:
CONTINENTAL AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS, INC. - Auburn Hills MI
International Classification:
G10L 21/0208
US Classification:
704226
The extrinsically-determined SNR is obtained from a long term history of previously-determined speech presence probabilities and a long term history of previously-determined noise histories.
