Abstract:
There is presented a user interface (UI) framework and systems and methods for its use. Such a system comprises a content server and a rich media content generated by a compiling of a rich media source code, wherein the rich media content is hosted by the content server. The rich media content includes a first embedded graphics environment configured to present display assets of the rich media content, and a first UI framework ported to the first embedded graphics environment, the first UI framework configured to interact with the first embedded graphics environment to modify the display assets of the rich media content in response to data received from a UI layout feed. The first UI framework is configured to modify the display assets of the rich media content without requiring modifications to the rich media source code or recompiling of the rich media source code.

Abstract:
There is provided a system and method for dynamically generated client side streaming playlists. There is provided a method comprising receiving a request to stream a video asset for playback, retrieving, from a network, a video asset playlist corresponding to the video asset and an ad campaign playlist, generating a consolidated video playlist including the video asset playlist and the ad campaign playlist, and processing the consolidated video playlist using a media playback framework to stream a plurality of video files from the network for decoding and output to a display. Discontinuity tags within the video asset playlist may be utilized as insertion points for portions of the ad campaign playlist. The consolidated video playlist may be accessed through a local HTTP web server, advantageously allowing the use of commonly installed media playback framework models such as QuickTime X to trigger adaptive bitrate support through HTTP Live Streaming.

Abstract:
There is provided a method including rendering a gating media content segment presentation, providing a user interface to a user viewing the gating media content segment presentation, and determining two user interaction indices, including an under-threshold index and an over-threshold index, associated with the gating media content segment presentation. The method determines the under-threshold index using a first user interaction data measured before a threshold event and determines the over-threshold index using a second user interaction data measured after the threshold event, the threshold event occurs after beginning the rendering of the gating media content segment presentation and makes a user interactive mechanism selectable, the second user interaction data includes data corresponds to a user selection of the user interactive mechanism, and one of the under-threshold index and the over-threshold index is calculated using a user interaction with the user interface using an input device.
