Abstract:
A subscriber's local service provider is identified in response to a telephone call from a subscriber to a called party. When a request is received from a customer for the identity of the subscriber's local service provider, a first determination is made as to which line information database to query. Then, it is determined what message type to send to the identified line information database. Subsequently, a query is launched to the line information database, and when a response is received, a response is forwarded to the customer.
