Filed:
May 21, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/619635
Inventors:
- Palm Beach Gardens FL, US
Garrison S. MOSELEY - Liverpool NY, US
Assignee:
Carrier Corporation - Palm Beach Gardens FL
International Classification:
B60P 3/20
B60H 1/00
B60H 1/32
Abstract:
A hybrid power conversion system () for an air conditioned transport vehicle () including a plurality of refrigeration components () for heating and/or cooling a refrigerated volume (). Also included is a battery () storing electrical power to be provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components (). Further included is at least one supplemental power source () providing electrical power to the battery () to provide a total available DC power for the refrigeration components (). Yet further included is a power converter () converting the total available DC power to a total AC power, the total AC power provided to at least one of the plurality of refrigeration components ().

US Patent:
20190331408, Oct 31, 2019
Filed:
Jun 16, 2017
Appl. No.:
16/310049
Inventors:
- Palm Beach Gardens FL, US
Garrison S. Moseley - Liverpool NY, US
Robert A. Chopko - Baldwinsville NY, US
International Classification:
F25D 29/00
B60H 1/32
B60H 1/00
F25D 11/00
Abstract:
A method of operating a refrigeration unit () of a transport refrigeration system () including the steps of: controlling, using a controller (), a plurality of components of the refrigeration system, the controlling includes operating at least one of a prime mover () and a battery system (); monitoring, using a location tracking device (), a location of the transport refrigeration system; powering, using the prime mover, the refrigeration unit when the location is outside a selected location; deactivating the prime mover when the location is within the selected location; activating the battery system when the location is within the selected location; and powering, using the battery system, the refrigeration unit when the location is within the selected location.

Particulate Filter Test System And Method

View page
US Patent:
20170167423, Jun 15, 2017
Filed:
Jan 16, 2015
Appl. No.:
15/116909
Inventors:
- Farmington CT, US
Garrison S. MOSELEY - Liverpool NY, US
Michael STOCKBRIDGE - Canastota NY, US
John T. STEELE - Marcellus NY, US
International Classification:
F02D 41/22
F01N 3/023
F02M 35/00
Abstract:
A system for testing a particulate filter system includes a filter controller connected to the particulate filter system and a vehicular computer configured to determine at least one engine condition. The filter controller is configured to control a condition of a component of the particulate filter system and the vehicular computer is operatively connected to the filter controller to communicate therewith. The vehicular computer compares the condition of the component of the particulate filter system with the engine condition to determine whether the component of the particulate filter system is functioning properly.

Diesel Engine Powered Transportation Refrigeration System

View page
US Patent:
20160185187, Jun 30, 2016
Filed:
Jun 11, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/911504
Inventors:
- Farmington CT, US
Benjamin Edward Ferguson - Cazenovia NY, US
Garrison S. Moseley - Liverpool NY, US
Daniel M. Maybury - Baldwinsville NY, US
Rasmus Sorensen - Middelfart, DK
Assignee:
CARRIER CORPORATION - Farmington CT
International Classification:
B60H 1/32
F01N 3/025
F01N 3/023
F02D 33/02
F02D 29/04
Abstract:
A transport refrigeration system () includes a refrigerant vapor compression transport unit () including a compressor (). A drive unit is utilized to provide power to the compressor. The drive unit includes a diesel powered engine () and a diesel particulate filter in operable communication with the diesel powered engine to filter combustion particulates from an exhaust gas output from the diesel powered engine. An air control valve is in operable communication with the diesel powered engine to control a flow of air into an air inlet of the diesel powered engine, thereby controlling an exhaust gas temperature of the diesel engine to aid in regeneration of the diesel particulate filter.
