Oscillating Powered Cultivating Tool

View page
US Patent:
RE332380, Jun 26, 1990
Filed:
Apr 3, 1987
Appl. No.:
7/036169
Inventors:
Lee A. Moulton - Carmichael CA
Frederick Siegler - Los Angeles CA
Assignee:
Hawaiian Motor Co. - Long Beach CA
International Classification:
A01B 100
US Classification:
172 40
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a powered cultivating tool or the like which includes a prime mover disposed within a housing, an output shaft extending from. [. said. ]. . Iadd. the. Iaddend. housing having a pinion fixed thereto,. [. said. ]. . Iadd. such. Iaddend. pinion being placed in meshing engagement with a gear having a first roller thereon offset from the axis of rotation of the gear which engages a cam follower operatively connected to a cultivating implement such as a tine so that the implement displays an oscillatory pendulum-like motion about a vertical radial line extending from an axis rotation of the gear. It is contemplated that the gear has extending therefrom an axle whose opposed extremity from the gear is provided with a disc hub having a similar roller, cam follower and the like for accommodating either a terminal portion of the first cultivating implement, or a second cultivating implement so that the sychronization of the two cam followers can be beneficially altered as is required by gardening constraints and the like.

Sprinkler Hose With Self Winding Capability

View page
US Patent:
45822573, Apr 15, 1986
Filed:
Dec 12, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/560589
Inventors:
Frederick Siegler - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
B65H 7500
US Classification:
239197
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel design for a perforated hose sprinkler which enables the hose to automatically rewind itself after use and after being released from a secured position in the ground. The mechanism includes a frame member with a reel contained within the frame and rotatably supported thereon on a fixed shaft. The reel further comprises a central core section. A spring is fixedly secured at one end to the fixed shaft and fixedly secured at its other end to the core of the reel, and is wound between the fixed shaft and the core. A sprinkler hose which is generally rectangular in cross-section and contains a multiplicity of pin holes along its length is wound onto the reel. The frame further comprises a slotted member through which the sprinkler hose can pass and which serves to provide tension to prevent the hose from retracting and further provides an effective seal to prevent water from running into any portion of hose that remains unwound on the reel. The hose is sealed at the end attached to the reel and the water source is attached to the hose at the end remote from the reel.

Fuel System For Crankcase Scavenged Two Cycle Spark Ignition Engines

View page
US Patent:
50277588, Jul 2, 1991
Filed:
Jul 9, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/549812
Inventors:
Frederick Siegler - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
F02B 3304
US Classification:
123 73AD
Abstract:
A fuel system for crankcase scavenged two cycle spark ignition engines which includes a specialized valve assembly connecting a source of propane gas and a source of oil to the engine. An automatic main valve connects the source of gas to the engine port and also senses pulses from the engine crankcase. A control valve interconnected to a venturi controls the air and oil supply to the engine.

Folding Pole Hedge Trimmer

View page
US Patent:
52611620, Nov 16, 1993
Filed:
Dec 14, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/994972
Inventors:
Frederick Siegler - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
B26B 1902
B26B 1912
F16C 1100
US Classification:
30216
Abstract:
The present invention is a folding pole hedge trimmer, which is capable of operating at unusual heights, twenty (20) feet or more from the ground. It includes an elbow joint in which the upper hollow pole and the lower hollow pole can be folded for easy storage. The present invention utilizes a very light-weight reciprocating cutting head used for hedge trimming, shaping of tree crowns, cypresses, bougainvilleas and other tall growing plants. The present invention relates to a spring biased mechanical cable drive. The present invention is designed to reduce the weight, complexity and cost of the spring biased mechanical cable drive.
