US Patent:
7674034, Mar 9, 2010
Filed:
Nov 3, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/593199
Inventors:
Eugene J. Kozlowski - Medina OH, US
Fred H. Mehlman - Brunswick OH, US
Laura L. Manson - Medina OH, US
Assignee:
Vita-Mix Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
A47J 43/07
B01F 7/32
US Classification:
366317, 3663257, 3663281, 366343
Abstract:
A food mixing machine () has a rotatable shaft () which is attached to the shaft () of an agitator (). The shaft () carries a ring () and a disk (), and the ring () carries a cloverleaf-shaped chip (). The chip () has opposed, generally flat lobes () with the opposed lobes () positioned between the lobes (). The lobes () are inclined relative to the lobes (). Cutout areas () are formed between the lobes (), and as the agitator () is being rotated by the shaft (), a leading edge () on the lobes () at the cutout areas () contacts the food being mixed. The leading edges () have a larger radius of curvature than the trailing edges () on each lobe ().

Food Mixing Machine And Agitator Therefor

US Patent:
7740401, Jun 22, 2010
Filed:
Apr 16, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/787239
Inventors:
Eugene J. Kozlowski - Medina OH, US
Fred H. Mehlman - Brunswick OH, US
Laura L. Manson - Medina OH, US
Assignee:
Vita-Mix Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
A47J 43/07

US Classification:
366317, 366325, 366343
Abstract:
A food mixer () includes a rotatable shaft () which is connected to the shaft () of an agitator (). The agitator () includes an upper disk () attached to the shaft () and a lower disk (). Slat walls () extend from the upper disk () to the lower disk () and slat walls () are curved so as to together forming a parabolic ring. A central blade () extends from the upper disk () to the lower disk () between the slat walls (). Both the upper and lower disks () are circular and are curved upwardly in one direction and curved downwardly in a direction transverse to the one direction.

Switch Assembly For A Food Mixing Machine

View page
US Patent:
7775705, Aug 17, 2010
Filed:
Jul 10, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/483286
Inventors:
Eugene J. Kozlowski - Medina OH, US
Jonathan M. Katz - Solon OH, US
Fred H. Mehlman - Brunswick OH, US
Glenn F. Brasdovich - Olmsted Township OH, US
Assignee:
Vita-Mix Corporation - Cleveland OH
International Classification:
A47J 43/044
US Classification:
366206
Abstract:
A machine () for mixing food in a cup (C) includes a housing having an agitator assembly () extending downwardly therefrom and adapted to be rotated by a motor to mix food in the cup (C). A switch assembly () is provided to operate the agitator assembly (). The switch assembly () includes a bracket () which pivotally carries a plate () which extends downwardly adjacent to the agitator assembly (). A switch () is carried by the bracket () and has an arm () biased toward the plate (). The plate () is biased toward the arm () by springs () to maintain the switch () in the open position. Pivoting the plate () relative to the bracket () against the bias of the springs () allows the arm () of the switch () to pivot to close the switch () allowing the agitator assembly () to rotate. Releasing the plate () allows the springs () to bias the plate () against the arm () but a pad () silences any noise created thereby, and a wall () of the bracket () stops the plate () from exerting undue pressure on the arm ().
