Abstract:
An apparatus for purging and rinsing a container having longitudinal ends, an upper sheet, lateral walls, and a lower wall, the apparatus having a frame defining a processing space; a punch positioned to overlie the container's upper sheet; a die positioned to underlie the container; a plurality of bend resistance relieving container wall cuts positioned for segmenting the container between its longitudinal ends; a plurality of linear motion actuators connected operatively to the punch or connected operatively to the die for lessening the die's downward displacement from the punch, for bending the chemical container's upper bendable sheet about the punch, and for splaying the container's longitudinal ends; and a plurality of rinse nozzles connected operatively to the frame for spraying water into the opened container.

An assembly for chemical container incising, purging, and water rinsing incorporating a frame defining a processing space; a knife and nozzle within the processing space, the knife having a cutting edge and the nozzle being positioned rearwardly from the cutting edge; a first conduit communicating with the nozzle; a bracket component within the processing space and adapted for supporting the chemical container; a motion actuator within the processing space and operatively interconnecting the frame and a component selected from the group consisting of the knife and nozzle component and the bracket component, the motion actuator being adapted for, upon the bracket component's support of the chemical container, moving the selected operatively interconnected component between first and second positions, the blade and nozzle component residing within the chemical container upon movement to the second position, and the blade and nozzle component displacing from each other upon movement to the first position.

Abstract:
An assembly for purging a canister into a tank and for rinsing the canister, the canister having a floor, the assembly including a “A” configured lance having a plurality of legs and a bar, each leg among the plurality of legs forming a blade having an upper end and an outer edge, the blades' upper ends and outer edges being sharpened for, upon upward impingement against the canisters' floor, dividing the floor into a plurality of sections, each section among the plurality of sections being configured as a flexible leaf, the bar member forming and functioning both as a leaf deflecting mandrel, and as a rotatable sprinkler head, the “A” configured lance and associated sprinkler head configured mandrel being mountable within the tank by suspension hooks.
