Philosophy:
I specialize in adolescent health care. The adolescent functions within the family, of course, and parents are integral to the health and well being of their children. At the same time, adolescents are developing indepence, and have a right to confidential care when appropriate. During an appointment, I talk with parents and their teenagers together, but then take time to talk with the adolescent alone to determine their strengths and stressors. Feedback is provided to both adolescent and parent, but recognize that certain issues are in fact confidential between the teenager and their health care provider.
