Filed:
May 17, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/746152
Inventors:
- Cincinnati OH, US
Nikhil Kochar - Blue Ash OH, US
Shane Jelliffe - Cincinnati OH, US
Eric Jon Mooar - Liberty Township OH, US
Christopher Linn Papa - Liberty Township OH, US
International Classification:
F21S 8/06
F21V 21/08
F21V 23/00
Abstract:
An uplight device for use with a luminaire that has a housing configured to be supported from a surface by a stem with a wireway. The uplight device includes a body having a radially outwardly directed annular flange, a vertically oriented annular rim encircling the annular flange, and a passageway extending through the body, and an uplight substrate supported on a first side of the annular flange. The uplight substrate includes a plurality of light emitting sources arranged in an array on a first side of the uplight substrate. The uplight device further includes an optical lens covering the first side of the annular flange and the uplight substrate. The body of the uplight device is configured to be coupled between the stem and housing of the luminaire such that the passageway communicates with the wireway of the stem and a chamber of the luminaire.

US Patent:
20170146217, May 25, 2017
Filed:
May 25, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/164301
Inventors:
- Cincinnati OH, US
John D. Boyer - Lebanon OH, US
James G. Vanden Eynden - Hamilton OH, US
Eric J. Mooar - Liberty Township OH, US
International Classification:
F21V 13/04
F21V 17/10
F21V 31/00
F21V 23/00
F21V 5/00
F21V 7/00
Abstract:
A luminaire assembly and a silicone optical array. The luminaire assembly includes a housing, a substrate, and a silicone optical array. The housing defines a light emitting chamber. The substrate has a plurality of light emitting sources, such as light emitting diodes, supported thereby in an array. The substrate defines a peripheral edge. The silicone optical array has a plurality of silicone optics formed in the silicone optical array. The silicone optical array is located so as to cover one side of the substrate and the plurality of light emitting sources. The silicone optical array may further include a silicone mat and a plurality of silicone optics formed in the silicone mat and being arranged in an array corresponding to the array of light emitting sources.

US Patent:
20170016608, Jan 19, 2017
Filed:
Jul 14, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/798782
Inventors:
- Cincinnati OH, US
Eric Jon Mooar - Liberty Township OH, US
Daniel Hutchens - Cold Spring KY, US
Travis Meyers Schubert - Cincinnati OH, US
International Classification:
F21V 29/508
F21V 29/70
F21V 19/00
F21V 5/04
F21V 15/01
Abstract:
A luminaire has a housing plate on which a circuit board rests. The circuit board has light sources for generating light and circuit board bosses. A lens is biased toward the circuit board and contacts a distal end of the circuit board bosses to press the circuit board against the housing plate.

US Patent:
20150092410, Apr 2, 2015
Filed:
Jun 3, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/294445
Inventors:
- Cincinnati OH, US
David Lonneman - Pleasant Plain OH, US
Daniel Hutchens - Cold Springs KY, US
Eric Jon Mooar - Liberty Township OH, US
Travis Montgomery Wright - Cincinnati OH, US
Andrew J. Bankemper - California KY, US
International Classification:
F21K 99/00
F21V 5/04
F21V 29/00
US Classification:
362235, 36224901, 36224902, 36231101, 362362, 362373
Abstract:
A luminaire is disclosed having a lighting element mount which can have a base and one or more wings acting has heat dissipation fins. A lighting element (e.g. a PCB populated with LEDs) can be mounted (e.g. directly) to the base of the lighting element mount to conduct heat away from the lighting element. The lighting element mount can be incorporated into the luminaire so as to associate the lighting elements with apertures in the luminaire, thus allowing the lighting elements to be protrude to the bottom of the luminaire while the wings extend rearward of the luminaire and both the base and the wings of the lighting element mount are exposed to ambient air.

US Patent:
20150055353, Feb 26, 2015
Filed:
Aug 20, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/970895
Inventors:
- Cincinnati OH, US
John D. Boyer - Lebanon OH, US
Larry Akers - Clarksville OH, US
Eric Jon Mooar - Clarksville OH, US
Assignee:
LSI Industries, Inc. - Cincinnati OH
International Classification:
F21V 15/01
F16M 13/02
F21V 21/02
US Classification:
362370, 362432, 248200
Abstract:
A luminaire having a housing with a column extending therefrom and a bracket secured to the column, the bracket having a body and two wings extending from opposing sides of the body, at least a portion of each wing extending in a direction at least partially away from the column. The mounting bracket allows installation of the luminaire to a structure, such as a ceiling or canopy, by inserting the luminaire column and bracket into an aperture in the structure from the underside of the structure. The aperture edge forces the wings to flex inward as the column advances through the aperture until the wings pass the aperture edge and spring outward to hold the luminaire to the structure. The mounting bracket thus facilitates quick attachment of the luminaire to the structure and allows attachment of additional mounting hardware to further secure the luminaire to the structure.
