Intraluminal Visualization System With Deflectable Mechanism

View page
US Patent:
6743227, Jun 1, 2004
Filed:
Mar 30, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/822678
Inventors:
Mahmoud K. Seraj - Apex NC
Eric Chan - Newark CA
James F. Kelley - Coon Rapids MN
Assignee:
Medtronic, Inc. - Minneapolis MN
International Classification:
A61B 1818
US Classification:
606 41, 607122, 60416413
Abstract:
This is a combination method and system for intravascularly accessing and visualizing a body structure. A system is disclosed comprising a sheath, a balloon catheter, and a catheter deflection mechanism. A micro-deflection mechanism, which may be placed into the lumen of devices such as cardiac leads or electrophysiology catheters, is also provided for accurate guidance and placement of such devices to their target location. In one embodiment, a procedure for a lead or catheter placement is described in which a combination deflection mechanism, balloon catheter, and sheath assembly access the coronary sinus ostium via a superior approach. A distal balloon on the catheter is inflated and an occlusive venogram is obtained under fluoroscopic guidance to visualize the coronary veins. The sheath is advanced into the coronary sinus ostium and the balloon is deflated. The catheter and deflection mechanism are then removed.

Java Object Cache Server For Databases

View page
US Patent:
7209929, Apr 24, 2007
Filed:
Apr 17, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/418961
Inventors:
Frank Dominguez, Jr. - Redwood City CA, US
Dave Moellenhoff - Orinda CA, US
Eric Chan - Oakland CA, US
Assignee:
salesforce.com, inc. - San Francisco CA
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
US Classification:
707103
Abstract:
A cache server is provided in a network for storing Java objects for retrieval by one or multiple application servers. Application server(s) are configured to request an object from the cache server, rather than requesting the Java object directly from a database, so as to reduce processing load on the database and free up database resources. Responsive to a request for a Java object from an application server, e. g. , in an HTTP request, the cache server determines if the object is stored in memory and if so, serializes the requested object and sends the serialized object to the requesting server, e. g. , in an HTTP response. The requesting server then deserializes the Java object. If the object is not stored in memory, the cache server instantiates the object (typically by requesting the object from the database), serializes the instantiated object and sends it to the requesting server. Cache coherency methods are also provided.

G06F 17/00
G06N 5/02
US Classification:
707694, 707703, 706 47
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention provides an enterprise system that automatically executes a rule associated with an event. During operation, the system receives an event object at the enterprise system. Next, the system creates an intermediate event object based on the event object, wherein the intermediate object is an invocation context for the rule. The system also filters a set of rules with the intermediate event object to obtain a subset of rules. The system then selects a rule that is associated with the event from the subset of rules. Finally, the system executes the rule.

US Patent:
8069153, Nov 29, 2011
Filed:
Oct 23, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/585527
Inventors:
Eric Chan - Hayward CA, US
Craig Weissman - San Francisco CA, US
Paul Nakada - San Francisco CA, US
Dave Moellenhoff - Orinda CA, US
Todd McKinnon - San Francisco CA, US
Assignee:
salesforce.com, Inc. - San Francisco CA
International Classification:
G06F 7/00
G06F 17/30
US Classification:
707691, 707716
Abstract:
Network security is enhanced in a multi-tenant database network environment using a query plan detection module to continually poll the database system to locate and raise an alert for suspect query plans. Security also can be enhanced using a firewall system sitting between the application servers and the client systems that records user and organization information for each client request received, compares this with information included in a response from an application server, and verifies that the response is being sent to the appropriate user. Security also can be enhanced using a client-side firewall system with logic executing on the client system that verifies whether a response from an application server is being sent to the appropriate user system by comparing user and organization id information stored at the client with similar information in the response.
