Workflow System And Method For Single Call Batch Processing Of Collections Of Database Records

View page
US Patent:
8645175, Feb 4, 2014
Filed:
Jul 12, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/486398
Inventors:
Emmanuel Arbogast - Newcastle WA, US
Assignee:
Open Text S.A. - Luxembourg
International Classification:
G06Q 10/00
US Classification:
705 711
Abstract:
Vector-based record handling by a workflow facility may be performed in association with performing a step from a workflow model that requires more than one input. The workflow facility retrieves the records needed to complete the step as a collection of records comprising a single input unit. Various components of the workflow facility, including components that operate within a runtime environment provided by the facility, perform processing of the collection of records so that the step from the workflow model can be completed.

Complex Data Merging, Such As In A Workflow Application

View page
US Patent:
8429527, Apr 23, 2013
Filed:
Jul 12, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/486397
Inventors:
Emmanuel Arbogast - Newcastle WA, US
Assignee:
Open Text S.A. - Luxembourg
International Classification:
G06F 17/00
US Classification:
715255, 715200, 715234
Abstract:
Merging data for use in a workflow application may include providing a user interface that facilitates collecting information from a user such as an indication of a first document and a second document that each include multiple records, a selection of a key indicator field common to both documents, and some indication of which of the two documents is a controlling document. Without the need for the user providing programming instructions, the workflow application joins information from both documents by identifying whether any of the records from the non-controlling document has a key indicator value that matches the key value of a select record from the controlling document. Based on this identifying, the workflow application dynamically generates a merged document which it can then use to perform one or more actions.

Emmanuel ARBOGAST - Newcastle WA, US
Assignee:
Open Text S.A. - Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
International Classification:
G06Q 10/06
US Classification:
705 727
Abstract:
A system and method of processing a flow of information may include capturing information for use by a workflow system, the information including internal content that is internal to the workflow system and external content that is external to the workflow system. The method may further include analyzing the internal content and the external content to determine metadata parameters for the captured information; associating the captured information with a process based at least in part on the metadata parameters; processing the captured information in accordance with the process associated therewith to thereby produce output data; formatting the output data into formatted output that conforms to an external system communicatively connected to the computer, the external system having fidelity and quality requirements for a delivery method; and delivering the formatted output to a recipient using the delivery method.
