US Patent:
7888575, Feb 15, 2011
Filed:
Jul 15, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/460274
Inventors:
Elisandro Toscano - Orange CA, US
International Classification:
G10D 13/02
US Classification:
84413
Abstract:
An improved drum construction in which sound hindering hardware is removed from the drum shell utilizing a unique tuning system that allows the drum skin to be tuned by rotating a counterhoop to bear pressure on an annular hoop securing the drum skin against a bearing rim. Rotation of the counterhoop drives the annular hoop deeper into an annular channel thereby increasing the tautness of the drum skin across the bearing rim. The bearing rim may be modified with adjustable bearing edges. The drum strainer is also removed from the drum shell and attached to the rim or counterhoop. Tone bridges and tone coats may be added to the drum shell to enhance sound production.

US Patent:
57394482, Apr 14, 1998
Filed:
Oct 16, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/730780
Inventors:
Elisandro Toscano - Orange CA
International Classification:
G10D 1302
US Classification:
84413
Abstract:
An improved tuning system is provided for a musical percussion drum. The tuning system utilizes an inverted J-shaped counterhoop that is threadably engaged with an externally threaded, outwardly facing tuning rim surface on a tuning collar that is secured to the drum shell. An interior portion of the counterhoop projects downwardly into a channel defined between the externally threaded tuning rim of the tuning collar and a bearing ring on the tuning collar located inwardly and separated from the tuning rim by the channel. The pressure ring bears downwardly on a hoop that is secured to the periphery of the drum skin. Rotation of the counterhoop in one direction screws the counterhoop further onto the drum shell, thereby tightening the drum skin. Counterrotation of the counterhoop in the opposite direction loosens the drum skin. Rotation is achieved by engagement of a pair of driving gears supported by a gear mount attached to the outer surface of the tuning collar.

Dental / Prosthetic Implant

US Patent:
20230017829, Jan 19, 2023
Filed:
Jul 15, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/376656
Inventors:
Elisandro R. Toscano - Orange CA, US
Michael B. Frankel - Valley Village CA, US
Yahya Mansour - Dallas TX, US
Malek K, Mansour - Irvine CA, US
Saam Zarrabi - Fort Worth TX, US
International Classification:
A61C 8/00
Abstract:
Improvements in a dental/prosthetic implant is disclosed. The implant includes interior and exterior threaded surfaces. The use of both interior and exterior expanding threaded surfaces for integrations of the insert and a prosthetic with the same implant. The implant is immediately usable under load and promotes rapid integration with bone growth. The expanded insert essentially makes contact with the tapped bone surfaces where loads can be immediately applied so a person can utilize the prosthetic implant. The implant can further include security devices GPS, ID with medical records making removal of the implant difficult to extract. A cushioning member may be further integrated. The implant/abutment can include a surface with a plurality of contacts with sufficient gold contact points to attach residual nerve endings, during implanting surgery to provide nerve identification, send, receive, target so as to exploit proprioceptive memory or retraining.
