View page
US Patent:
8056584, Nov 15, 2011
Filed:
Sep 25, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/534964
Inventors:
Thomas George Burrowes - North Canton OH, US
David Joseph Maguire - Hudson OH, US
Douglas Michael Gilg - Lincoln NE, US
Jenny Zhaoxia Yu - Hudson OH, US
Assignee:
Veyance Technologies, Inc. - Fairlawn OH
International Classification:
F16L 11/00
US Classification:
138126, 138125, 138132
Abstract:
A flexible hose construction with kink, crush, and burst resistance. The hose is constructed of a tubular member and a reinforcement strip at least partially embedded in the tubular member. The reinforcement strip is wound in a helical pattern encircling a central lumen of the tubular body. The material forming the reinforcement strip has a greater initial modulus than the material forming the tubular member.

US Patent:
20180346249, Dec 6, 2018
Filed:
Sep 29, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/761587
Inventors:
- Hannover, DE
Don Belik - Lincoln NE, US
Douglas M. Gilg - Powell OH, US
Assignee:
ContiTech Transportbandsysteme GmbH - Hannover
International Classification:
B65G 15/34
A01F 15/18
B32B 5/02
B32B 3/02
B32B 25/10
B32B 5/08
D03D 3/04
Abstract:
A conveyor belt including a pulley cover layer, a carry cover layer, and at least one reinforcement layer disposed within the belt between the pulley cover layer and the carry cover layer. The belt has a first edge section, a second edge section, and a load carrying section. The first edge section and the second edge section are located on each side of the conveyor belt, and the load carrying section is located between the first second edge sections. The reinforcement layer is comprised of a woven fabric which has weft threads extending across the width of the belt and passing into both the first edge section and the second edge section of the conveyor belt. The woven fabric also has warp threads located in the load carrying section of the conveyor belt extending longitudinally throughout the belt without passing into either the first or the second edge section.

System And Method For Monitoring An Agricultural Belt

View page
US Patent:
20170359953, Dec 21, 2017
Filed:
Jun 17, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/186197
Inventors:
- Hannover, DE
Douglas Gilg - Powell OH, US
Alan Echtenkamp - Waverly NE, US
Jacques Basson - Durban, ZA
International Classification:
A01D 34/00
A01D 34/40
G01B 7/04
A01D 101/00
Abstract:
A belt monitoring system for an agricultural belt arrangement, the monitoring system including an agricultural belt having a magnetic element embedded therein and a sensor. The agricultural belt arrangement defines a proper belt alignment for the belt and moves the belt. The magnetic element is polarized so as to output a magnetic signal. The sensor is configured to detect, at a reference position, the magnetic signal outputted by the magnetic element. The monitoring system further includes a circuit configured to output a signal if, for example, the agricultural belt moves more than a predetermined amount through the agricultural belt arrangement without the sensor arrangement detecting the magnetic signal outputted by the magnetic element, a predetermined amount of time passes without the sensor detecting the magnetic signal, and the circuit determines the position of the magnetic element to be outside of a permissible positional range.

Conveyor Belt With Zero Stage Splice

View page
US Patent:
20150307281, Oct 29, 2015
Filed:
Apr 21, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/692292
Inventors:
Douglas M. Gilg - Powell OH, US
Robin B. Steven - Dublin OH, US
Shannon G. Willer - Plain City OH, US
David J. Maguire - Hudson OH, US
Assignee:
CONTITECH TRANSPORTBANDSYSTEME GMBH - Hannover
International Classification:
B65G 15/36
B23K 35/30
C22C 19/03
B23K 1/00
Abstract:
The present invention is based upon the discovery that the steel cords in conveyor belt splices can be brazed together in a specific and cost effective manner to attain splices which having improved strength and durability. The present invention more specifically discloses a conveyor belt which is reinforced with steel cables and which includes a first section and a second section which are bonded together with a splice, wherein said splice bonds a first set of steel cables from the first section of the conveyor belt to a second set of steel cables from the second section of the conveyor belt with a braze alloy, and wherein the first set of steel cables and the second set of steel cables are contained within a ferrule at the point of where the first set of steel cables are bonded to the second set of steel cables.
