Abstract:
A frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW)-based system configured to convert measurements of a linearly modulated wave from a time-domain into a frequency-domain to produce a non-linear frequency signal, where the non-linear frequency signal comprises a known linear component representing the desired linear modulation and an unknown non-linear component representing the non-linearity of the modulation. The FMCW-based system is further configured to determine coefficients of a basis function approximating a difference between the non-linear frequency signal and the linear frequency component in the frequency domain. The FMCW-based system is further configured to detect one or multiple spectrum peaks in the distorted beat signal with the distortion compensated according to the basis function with the determined coefficients to determine one or multiple distances to the one or multiple objects in the scene.
The present disclosure provides antibody tumor-targeting assembly complexes (ATTACs) for selectively activating desired immune cells in the tumor microenvironment.
Targeting Moiety Peptide Epitope Complexes Having A Plurality Of T-Cell Epitopes
A variety of targeting moiety peptide epitope complexes (TPECs) are described in different embodiments. In each of the embodiments, however, a targeting moiety may be used to deliver the TPEC to an area of unwanted cells, allowing for a therapeutic effect to be delivered locally. The TPEC also contains a plurality of T-cell epitopes. The TPEC further comprises cleavage sites that release the T-cell epitopes from the targeting agent, and in some embodiments from each other, when they are in the microenvironment of the unwanted cells. Although the arrangement and number of T-cell epitopes varies in different embodiments described herein, once cleaved from the targeting agent (and any neighboring T-cell epitopes), the T-cell epitopes function by stimulating an immune response against the unwanted cells.
Reference-Free Nonlinearity Correction For Fmcw-Based Sensing Systems
A frequency modulation continuous wave (FMCW)-based system includes an emitter to transmit at least one linearly modulated wave of radiation to a scene and a receiver to receive a reflection of the transmitted wave from one or multiple objects located at different locations in the scene. The system interferes a copy of the wave outputted by the emitter with the reflection of the transmitted wave received by the receiver to produce a beat signal with spectrum peaks corresponding to reflections from the different locations at the scene. The beat signal is distorted due to the non-linearity of the modulation. The system includes a processor to detect a number of spectrum peaks in the distorted beat signal and, only in response to detecting multiple spectrum peaks, jointly determine coefficients of a basis function approximating the non-linearity of the modulation and distances to the different locations at the scene having the objects causing the reflection resulting in the spectrum peaks in the distorted beat signal.
The invention provides an agent for preventing or treating a condition characterised by the presence of unwanted cells, the agent comprising: (i) a targeting moiety that is capable of targeting to the unwanted cells; and (ii) a T cell antigen, wherein the T cell antigen can be released from the targeting moiety by selective cleavage of a cleavage site in the agent in the vicinity of the unwanted cells.

Abstract:
Methods and systems for decoding symbols transmitted over an optical channel having a cross-polarization modulation (XPolM) impairment, wherein an optical signal is polarized to encode the symbols on an x-polarization and an y-polarization before transmitted. The method including receiving the optical signal transmitted over the optical channel. Sampling the optical signal to produce a sequence of digital samples, wherein each digital sample includes a measurement of each polarization of the optical signal at an instance of time. Selecting a subset of the sequence of digital samples that includes a digital sample and neighboring digital samples on the sequence. Repeating the selecting and the determining for each digital sample remaining in the sequence of digital samples to produce a sequence of cross-talk coefficients; and decoding some of the symbols from the sequence of digital samples using cross-talk models with corresponding cross-talk coefficients, wherein method steps are performed using a processor.

Abstract:
A method for decoding a codeword transmitted over a channel demodulates data received over the channel to produce an initial estimate of belief messages for bits of the codeword and decodes the codeword using a belief propagation (BP) decoding that iteratively passes the belief messages between a set of variable nodes representing the bits of the codeword and a set of check nodes representing parity-check constraints on the bits of the codeword until a termination condition is met. The BP decoding selects a look-up table based on a probability of the belief messages and maps, using the look-up table, values of at least two incoming belief messages to values of at least one outgoing belief message that forms an incoming belief message in a subsequent iteration of the BP decoding.
