International Classification:
C08K003/00
US Classification:
524542000
Abstract:
A coating composition is provided for plastics, polymers, paper, and paperboard useful in packaging of liquids and solids where the coating provides an increased resistance to the permeability of gases such as oxygen and/or carbon dioxide, whose presence or absence may affect the quality of the packaged material. The coating composition has at least one polymeric film forming material that is at least one hydroxyl functional polyetheramine in dispersion or solution form. The coating also has an aminoplast crosslinking agent and optionally at least one defoaming agent all preferably in a water borne coating composition. The coating is applied to the substrates by such coating applications as brushing, dip coating, spray coating, flow coating for drying to produce the substrate with the coating film.
