Portable Evaporative Cooling Apparatus

View page
US Patent:
6367278, Apr 9, 2002
Filed:
Jan 9, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/757372
Inventors:
Christopher J. Strussion - Bellaire OH, 43906
Thomas Strussion - Bellaire OH
Assignee:
Christopher J. Strussion - Bellaire OH
International Classification:
F28D 500
US Classification:
62314, 62304
Abstract:
A portable evaporative cooling system includes a fan for generating a path of air, a water pump for dispersing water in the path of air generated by the fan, and a water cooler for storing the water. The water cooler has an opening to permit the water pump to draw water therefrom. Support structure supports the fan and water pump and is sized and dimensioned to cooperatively engage the water cooler. The pump pumps the liquid from the cooler in a substantially non-pulsating manner, thereby providing a substantially continuous misting.

Self-Contained Evaporative Cooling System

View page
US Patent:
20100043474, Feb 25, 2010
Filed:
Aug 24, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/546414
Inventors:
Christopher J. Strussion - Bellaire OH, US
International Classification:
F28D 5/00
B23P 19/04
US Classification:
622594, 62314, 29801
Abstract:
A portable evaporative cooling system having a misting apparatus has a fan generating an air path and a spraying apparatus dispersing water in the air path. A water container has an elongate body wherein the water container has a cross-sectional profile that at least partially approximates a cross-sectional profile of the misting apparatus. The misting apparatus selectively slidingly engages at least part of the cross-sectional profile of the water container, therein selectively securing the fan inside the water container. A lid is in selective cooperative engagement with the open end of the water container and has an access port therethrough. In a first configuration, the lid encloses the misting apparatus within an interior region of the water container, and in a second configuration, the misting apparatus is operatively coupled to an external portion of the lid, wherein the misting apparatus draws water through the access port.
