An improved process for the hydroformylation of olefins with carbon monoxide and hydrogen in the presence of a hydroformylation catalyst in a continuous tubular reactor, the improvement comprising: a. employing an rhodium hydroformylation catalyst; b. maintaining the reaction temperature at less than about 145. degree. C. ; and c. maintaining the pressure at less than 450 psig and the partial pressure therein attributable to carbon monoxide no greater than about 90% of the total pressure; whereby the hydroformylated olefin product is rich in normal aldehydes.
