Quick Tie

US Patent:
51182327, Jun 2, 1992
Filed:
Feb 26, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/486012
Inventors:
Cary W. Shuker - Riverside CA
International Classification:
B61D 4500
US Classification:
410 98
Abstract:
A quick tie load binding system for securing loads to trucks or vehicles having a flat bed surface by uniformly pulling the binding which holds the load to the flat-bed surface. The load is secured to the vehicle by a binding which is connected to main shafts that run along opposite sides of the load and which are driven in a counter-rotational fashion from a gear box. The main shafts have binding pegs projecting outward to which the binding is attached. The gear box rotates the main shafts in opposite directions to bind or release the entire load from a single location.

US Patent:
52342980, Aug 10, 1993
Filed:
Apr 20, 1992
Appl. No.:
7/870934
Inventors:
Cary W. Shuker - Riverside CA
International Classification:
B61D 4500
US Classification:
410 98
Abstract:
An improved system for quickly securing a load to a flat bed vehicle. Rotatable main shafts are secured on opposite sides of the load with each of the main shafts having a gear box. An access shaft couples the two main shafts together through worm gearing so that actuating the access shaft from either side of the truck actuates both main shafts. This causes the main shafts to rotate in opposite directions and pulls the binding tight across the load. A ratchet may be provided on the main shafts to also secure a position of the main shafts and allow effective motion in one direction only. The binding may be removed from the load by releasing the ratchet and rotating the main shafts in an opposite fashion.

US Patent:
57882916, Aug 4, 1998
Filed:
Jul 19, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/684697
Inventors:
Jack R. Williams - Riverside CA
Cary Shuker - Riverside CA
International Classification:
F16L 3726
US Classification:
285325
Abstract:
A detachable hose assembly for easily connecting a hose to a faucet without using a screwing motion. The detachable hose assembly is comprised of a hose member and a faucet member. The hose member is configured to be attached to a hose and has a front face and a central shaft for communication of water to the hose. The faucet member is configured to be attached to a faucet and has a front face and a central shaft for communication of water to the central shaft of the hose member. The hose member and faucet member are configured to be slidably coupled together in a first orientation to form a single central shaft so that the front faces of the hose member and the faucet member are positioned adjacent each other and the outer surfaces of the members are flush. A raised surface and a seal are positioned about the shaft so that when the hose and faucet members are coupled, the raised surface exerts a force against the seal in a direction parallel to the central shaft so that leakage is reduced. The front faces of the hose member and the faucet member are configured so that when the hose member and the faucet member are coupled together, a cavity will be formed between the front faces of the hose member and faucet member so that debris will be urged into the cavity when the members are engaged.
