Expansible Chamber Pneumatic System

View page
US Patent:
7527483, May 5, 2009
Filed:
Sep 2, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/218216
Inventors:
Carl J Glauber - Jamesville NY, US
International Classification:
F04B 43/06
US Classification:
417395, 417382, 417404, 417267, 417437, 91314, 91307, 92 48
Abstract:
An expansible chamber pneumatic system, for example a fluid pump system, includes two or more double-acting diaphragm pumps, each with symmetrical left and right pump housings, each housing including an air chamber and a fluid chamber separated by a movable diaphragm. The diaphragms are connected for reciprocating movement in unison to pump fluid through their respective fluid chambers. Each pump includes an air valve actuated by Control air to direct Process air into one of the air chambers, simultaneously releasing used Process air from the other air chamber to thereby move the diaphragms, thereby to pump fluid. A pilot valve directs Control air to the air valve to position the air valve. The pilot valve is responsive to diaphragms reaching their travel limit in one direction to direct Control air to reverse the directions of Process air flow through the air valve to thereby reverse the movement of the pump diaphragms. Control air exhausts through the pilot valve to atmosphere.

Multi-Stage Expansible Chamber Pneumatic System

View page
US Patent:
8186972, May 29, 2012
Filed:
Jan 15, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/008948
Inventors:
Carl J. Glauber - Jamesville NY, US
Assignee:
Wilden Pump and Engineering LLC - Grand Terrace CA
International Classification:
F04B 35/00
US Classification:
417399, 417254
Abstract:
A multi-stage expansible chamber pump system includes a HP pump unit, and first and second LP pump units. The LP units each include a LP air chamber and a pumped fluid chamber, separated by a piston. The HP unit includes left and right HP air chambers separated by a piston. Pistons are coaxial on a common piston rod for reciprocating movement in unison. A direction control DC valve includes a valve spool movable between first and second positions. The DC valve receives high pressure shop air as Control air and Process air. Control air moves the DC valve spool alternately to first and second positions. The DC valve, as determined by the position of the spool, directs Process air alternately to one side, then the other, of the HP unit, whereby the pistons reciprocate in unison to pump fluid through the fluid chambers.

Air-Driven Pump System

View page
US Patent:
20110236224, Sep 29, 2011
Filed:
Mar 29, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/074258
Inventors:
Carl J. Glauber - Jamesville NY, US
International Classification:
F04B 49/00
US Classification:
417 46
Abstract:
An air-driven pump system comprising an efficiency valve. One or multiple efficiency valves integral to the pumping system prevent overfilling of the air chambers, thereby reducing the amount of air used by the system while decreasing the energy wasted by the system.

System For Installing O-Ring

View page
US Patent:
59099097, Jun 8, 1999
Filed:
Sep 8, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/925246
Inventors:
Carl J. Glauber - Jamesville NY
International Classification:
B23P 1902
US Classification:
29235
Abstract:
A system for inserting O-rings into axially spaced annular grooves in a cylindrical cavity includes a cylinder for insertion to a limited extent into the cavity from one end, with a rod extending from the cylinder through the cavity; a sleeve for insertion to a limited extent into the cavity from the other end; spacer rings for selective mounting on the cylinder and the sleeve to selectively position the cylinder and sleeve relative to the cavity, whereby to cover all but one of the annular grooves within the cavity. A tube fits into the sleeve and over the rod to push an O-ring along the rod and into the one annular groove left exposed by the cylinder and sleeve.

Reciprocating Volume Pump

View page
US Patent:
20210123430, Apr 29, 2021
Filed:
Oct 19, 2020
Appl. No.:
17/073903
Inventors:
Carl J. Glauber - Jamesville NY, US
International Classification:
F04B 43/107
F04B 53/10
Abstract:
A pump for moving liquid into and out of a fixed volume chamber through acceleration of the liquid to create a liquid pressure differential within the pump. The pump includes a fixed volume chamber having a first end and second end. A suction directional valve is connected to the first end of the fixed volume chamber and a discharge directional valve is connected to the second end of the fixed volume chamber. A power source is attached to the pump volume and moves the pump volume in a reciprocating motion. An acceleration of the reciprocating motion generates a force of liquid mass within the fixed volume chamber that overcomes the suction and discharge directional valves, allowing liquid mass into the fixed volume chamber and dispelling liquid mass from the fixed volume chamber.

Air Operated Pump

US Patent:
20170022983, Jan 26, 2017
Filed:
Mar 24, 2016
Appl. No.:
15/079441
Inventors:
- Grand Terrace CA, US
CARL GLAUBER - Mission Viejo CA, US
Assignee:
WILDEN PUMP AND ENGINEERING LLC - Grand Terrace CA
International Classification:
F04B 9/12
F04B 43/073
F04B 9/137
F04F 5/20
F04B 19/22
Abstract:
An air-driven pump includes a source of compressed air, a vacuum source including a venturi and two pump units with structurally independent pumping elements dividing pump chambers from air chambers. A directional control valve is in communication with the source of compressed air, the vacuum source, the pump unit air chambers. The directional control valve includes two valve positions alternating communication of the source of compressed air and the vacuum source with the air chambers. A pilot valve system shifts the directional control valve between the two valve positions at end of stroke positions of the pump and includes actuators extending into the air chambers to engage the pumping elements with the air chambers contracted.

Air Motor

US Patent:
20160115973, Apr 28, 2016
Filed:
Oct 23, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/921906
Inventors:
- Grand Terrace CA, US
CARL J. GLAUBER - Mission Viejo CA, US
Assignee:
WILDEN PUMP AND ENGINEERING LLC - Grand Terrace CA
International Classification:
F15B 11/10
F15B 15/18
Abstract:
An air motor has a source of pressurized air, two air chambers, a pilot valve and a directional control valve. The spool of the directional control valve is of the unbalanced type and includes a piston surface in continuous communication with atmosphere through an exhaust port and a pressurized restricted port in alternating communication with the large end of the spool and the piston surface. The alternating communication of the source of pressurized air through the restricted port is restricted relative to the continuous communication of the piston surface with atmosphere. At the point of shift of the directional control valve, the piston surface is in communication with the source of pressurized air through the restricted port.
