Stiff-Backed Ramming Chain

View page
US Patent:
47198400, Jan 19, 1988
Filed:
Jun 7, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/742244
Inventors:
Bradley D. Goodell - Anoka MN
Ronald A. Larson - Minneapolis MN
Assignee:
FMC Corporation - Chicago IL
International Classification:
F41F 906
US Classification:
89 47
Abstract:
A compact rammer assembly for forcing ammunition into a gun having a rammer head attached to a pair of chains which are stored in separate spiral tracks positioned between the retracted position of the rammer head and driven sprockets. Each chain composed of links pinned together with vertical tabs at each end of each link; the tabs on each link engaging the tabs on adjacent links of each chain as well as the corresponding tabs on the links of the other chain when the sprockets driven the chains to extend the rammer head.

Fluid Power Transfer Device

View page
US Patent:
45936056, Jun 10, 1986
Filed:
Jun 7, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/742241
Inventors:
Bradley D. Goodell - Anoka MN
Assignee:
FMC Corporation - Chicago IL
International Classification:
F15B 1300
US Classification:
91528
Abstract:
A hoseless arrangement for supplying pressure and tank passages in remote hydraulic device including an extend tube, with pressure and tank passages, and an extend cylinder each reciprocably mounted on a base with a pair of concentric tubes attached to the extend cylinder and to the extend tube, the inner tube communicating with one side of the extend cylinder and the outer tube with the other side thereof. A shuttle valve on the extend tube is connected to shift so that the pressure passage is always subjected to high pressure and the tank passage is always subjected to low pressure.

Variable Displacement Pump System

View page
US Patent:
45183201, May 21, 1985
Filed:
Feb 3, 1984
Appl. No.:
6/576688
Inventors:
Bradley D. Goodell - Anoka MN
Assignee:
Deere & Company - Moline IL
International Classification:
F04B 4900
US Classification:
417217
Abstract:
A variable displacement pump has a swashplate controlled by a pair of pistons. A shuttle valve communicates the highest pressure pump workport to an operator-controlled displacement control valve. A pressure-responsive override valve is connected in series between the displacement control valve and the pistons. When an override pressure is achieved, the override valve blocks communication of the control valve with the pair of pistons and communicates the pump workports directly to the pistons for rapid destroking. A neutral bypass valve is formed out of a sleeve of the displacement control valve to bypass control pressure to sump when the displacement control valve is in neutral. A pressure-reducing valve limits the pressure acting on the stroke control valve to limit response rates and reduce erosion. The override valve includes orifices which, in intermediate positions, provide flow rate control of the fluid flow to the swashplate control pistons.
